I love shopping online.
Any time I need something, I open up my laptop and order it from the internet. Shopping online is not only so much more convenient, but it also gives you much better deals!
In today’s post, I wanted to share 101 online shopping websites. I’ve even separated these sites by category, so you can find exactly what it is you’re looking for.
Table of Contents
Most Popular Websites for Shopping on the Internet
Whether you’re looking for the cheapest online shopping sites for women, men or kids, this list contains them all. And to make it easier for you to find what you are looking for, I’m going to separate them by category.
With that said, here are the best eCommerce sites for shopping online.
Online Shopping Websites for Clothes
One of the things that I purchase most often online, aside from groceries, is clothing. I like to buy most clothes online because I think it’s just easier to see what’s there. I hate it when you go into a store and you spend ages looking through racks and racks of clothes without actually finding anything that you like.

With online clothing stores, you don’t have that issue. You can simply type in “black dress” for example and have a multitude of results within sections. It can save you so much time.
Plus, you can shop for clothes right from your phone, computer, or tablet.
Also, I find that online clothing stores just have better deals. I’ve seen 50% off deals, buy one get one free, and a plethora of items that are hugely discounted.

Online Book Stores
Are you a bit of a bookworm? If so, consider buying your books online. Sure, going to a bookstore is pretty fun, but shopping for books online is also a great option.
Firstly, it’s often cheaper. Since bookstores have more overheads involved in running an actual store, they can’t offer the low prices you’ll find online. Because online retailers don’t have stores to run, they have fewer overheads, meaning they can offer you books at lower prices.
The second reason why I enjoy getting books online is that you can often find a wider selection. Not only can you often find a wide selection of authors and genres, but you can also get paperbacks, hardbacks, audiobooks, and eBooks when you shop for books on the internet.

Best Online Grocery Stores
The thing that I purchase the most online is definitely groceries. I know that a lot of people like to shop for their groceries in-store, but I’ve found getting them online to be a much better experience.
I tend to do one large grocery order per week. I’ve found that doing this saves me so much money.
There are a couple of reasons for this:
- When you purchase groceries online, you know exactly what you’re spending. You get a running total. So, you aren’t surprised when you get to the checkout. And, if you have a budget and see your cart total is too high, you can simply remove a few items from your cart.
- It curbs impulse buying: In-store, you know what it’s like, they have deals on offer, and you end up buying stuff that wasn’t on your list.
Also, it’s just way more convenient. Someone else does your shopping for you, so you save time!
Here are some great grocery shopping sites:

Furniture & Home Decor
Recently, I’ve been looking for some new bedroom furniture, and I’ve used a couple of the sites in this section.
They offer some awesome pieces at affordable prices.
Now, the thing I like about the furniture websites below is that they offer items to suit all tastes. I prefer more classic/traditional furniture, and I’ve found pieces that fit with my style on Wayfair.
But, I know that some people love more modern/contemporary pieces, and the great thing is that on Wayfair, and the other places below, you can find those types of items too.
The other thing about purchasing furniture and home décor items online is that you can often find pieces at much more reasonable prices than you’d find at your traditional brick-and-mortar furniture store.
Plus, there are often coupons and other deals available that, in addition to the already low prices on offer, can save you even more money.

FAQ
In this section, I just wanted to cover some Q&As about shopping online.
What are the best online shopping sites?
Well, this really is subjective. It generally depends on things like what it is you’re looking to purchase, whether budget is your main concern or the product itself, and how quickly you want to get an item.
According to Statista, the most visited retail sites in the world in 2020 were:
- Amazon.com
- eBay.com
- Rakuten.co.jp
- Apple.com
- Samsung.com
- AliExpress
- Walmart.com
- Etsy.com
- Ikea.com
- HomeDepot .com
Now, just because a store is the most visited list, it doesn’t mean that it’s the best, but of course, it does indicate that lots of people shop there so it must be good.
I think that Amazon is one of the best shopping sites overall because it is so convenient if you’re a Prime member. You get fast and free shipping. If you need something quickly, then I would recommend it.
For clothing, I enjoy ASOS because I can find clothing from lots of different brands all in one place.
And, when it comes to beauty products, Sephora is my go-to because it offers a rewards program, free samples, and lots of other benefits.
That, however, is just my opinion. Like I said before, it really depends on what it is you’re looking for.
What are the top 10 online shopping websites in the USA?
According to Statista, the top ten most visited sites in the USA are:
- Amazon Sites
- Walmart
- eBay
- Target
- Kohl’s
- Apple
- Etsy
- Best Buy
- Macy’s
- The Home Depot
Which online shopping website is best for clothes?
According to Statista, these are the most popular fashion sites in the USA:
- Macys.com
- Amazon.com
- Gap.com
- Norstrom.com
- Kohls.com
- Walmart.com
- StitchFix.com
- VictoriasSecret.com
- QVC.com
- JCPenney
While those may be the most popular sites, it doesn’t always mean that they’re the best, but it does give a good indication that people love shopping there.
I think that when it comes to clothing, it really depends on your style and budget. Amazon can be good for clothing. I enjoy ASOS, as I mentioned before. But online department stores are also my go-to because there’s clothing available from lots of brands all in one place.
What are the cheapest online shopping sites?
This is another one of those things that really is subjective because we all have a different definition of what cheap is.
For some, a $30 pair of jeans are cheap and for others that is wildly expensive.
That being said, these sites generally offer products at affordable prices:
- Walmart
- AliExpress
- Forever21
- ColourPop
- Five Below
- EyeBuyDirect
- Wish
- Amazon
- Overstock
- Book Outlet
- PrettyLittleThing
- Shop Miss A
Tips for Saving Money Wherever You Shop Online
There are tons of sites on the list above to keep you busy! No matter what it is from clothes to furniture, you’ll find it on one of these online shopping websites.
Now, one of the things that I see most commonly when it comes to online shopping is people asking about the cheapest online stores. Now, I’ve covered this a little in the FAQ section.
Some stores are just cheaper to begin with, like Walmart, Amazon, and Forever21, and some places like Mango, All Saints, and Nieman Marcus are on the pricier side.
No matter where you shop online though, besides using these awesome online shopping apps, there are a few things you can do to ensure that you get the best deals.
In this section I wanted to share tips for saving money when shopping online – no matter where it is that you’re shopping.
1. Use Honey
I’ve been using Honey a lot recently and it has saved me so much money.
It’s a browser extension that automatically finds and applies the best coupon codes at the checkout.
What I like about Honey is just how easy it is to use. You really don’t have to do anything except click on the Honey icon when you are on the checkout page or any page that has a field where you can enter a coupon code or promo code.
Then the extension searches online for coupon codes, tries each one and then applies the one that saves you the most money.
Using Honey, my and husband I have saved $100s on everything from clothing to art supplies.
- Get the Honey browser extension here.
2. Shop through Rakuten (and try a few other cashback websites too)
If you are ever shopping online, I would highly recommend that you head on over to Rakuten to see if there are any cashback offers available at the store you plan to shop at.
Rakuten, if you haven’t heard about it, is a cashback website. It features more than 2,500 retailers.
Basically, you visit Rakuten, click on the retailer you want, and then you shop there as you normally would. The difference is that since you’ve gone through Rakuten to do so, you will earn cashback.
The cashback is given as a percentage rate. This could be anywhere from 1% to 70% or more in cashback.
Rakuten can save you so much money and it really does require little effort on your part.
- Get cashback with Rakuten here.
You can also try Mr. Rebates (review here) and TopCashback. Both of those sites work in a similar way to Rakuten offering cashback at 1,000s of stores.
3. Use free gift cards to get a discount or even free stuff!
For those who shop online a lot, I recommend taking advantage of free gift cards.
These sites all give out gift cards as rewards:
These sites give you gift cards just for doing tasks like:
- Playing games
- Shopping online
- Trying new apps
- Taking surveys
- Completing offers
- Opening emails
- Watching videos
So a lot of the stuff that you may already do anyway. I mean a lot of us watch videos, play games, and shop online, right?
These sites give you gift cards to a plethora of retailers like Sephora, Amazon, Target, and Macy’s.
You can use your gift cards when you shop online and you’ll get a discount or maybe even stuff for free!
4. Always join the reward program
Signing up for a site’s reward program is a must provided that it’s free of course. Fortunately, most loyalty and rewards programs are free to join.
The reason you should join these programs is because you get access to many more benefits. The main benefit of most of these reward programs is that you get the ability to earn points that you can redeem for rewards like store credit. This can really save you some money on your future purchases.
I enjoy using reward programs when I’m shopping for beauty products in particular. In the past, I’ve used the points I’ve accumulated to get free makeup and skincare products.
So I really would recommend that you sign up for a store’s reward program if it has one.
Also, many of these programs provide benefits like a free gift on your birthday, access to coupons and other exclusive-savings, and even free shipping on some sites.
5. Sign up for the email list
I always recommend that you sign up for the email list of the sites that you plan to shop with.
Doing so is beneficial for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, many stores offer an incentive for signing up. This is usually a discount like 10% off or $5 off your first purchase. Or, it could be a free shipping offer. Whatever this incentive is, it will usually save you money, and that’s definitely what you want when you’re shopping online, right?
The other reason that you should sign up for the email list is that you often get deals sent right to your inbox. These could be details about sales, coupon codes, promo codes, and lots of other deals that can save you money.
If you don’t want to clutter up your regular inbox with emails from stores and brands, then you could always set up a new free email account that you use solely for signing up to emails from online stores. You can get a free email account from places like Outlook.
Happy Online Shopping!
Like I said earlier, I enjoy shopping online and purchase everything from my groceries to clothing right from my laptop.
You can get low prices, high quality pieces, and of course convenience when you shop online.
Oh, and if you’d like to get paid to shop online (it’s possible!) then make sure you check out this post: Get Paid to Shop Online where we list the top 10 sites that pay you to shop on the internet (even on Amazon and Walmart!)
