A lot of people don’t bother trying to make extra money online because they are worried about scams or think that it’s a waste of time.
While it is true that there are scams out there that will take advantage of users, it’s easy to find legit resources with a little research. We went ahead and did that for you, so you don’t have to worry about scam sites!
As for a waste of time, you’d actually be surprised how easy it is to make an extra buck! Some programs let people use their phones to earn money, which means you can earn your money just waiting around in line at the grocery store.

This company has been featured by The New York Times, LifeHacker, and The Wall Street Journal.
You earn $60 to test a website or an app while recording yourself. You complete a set of tasks, speaking your thoughts aloud as you do them. The test can easily be done in one day.

Each survey pays anywhere between $0.20 to $3.50. Usually, they are about different types of consumer goods.
A survey takes up to 30 minutes to complete but usually only takes ten minutes. On average, you’ll need to do five surveys a day to earn $1.

Check out our full review of Inbox Dollars here.
Springboard America
This is one of those sites you’ll want to check every day but probably will need a backup plan. Many of their surveys are high paying, such as $20, which is great! However, that also means it is competitive and you might not make it on the list of participants.
Panda Research
This site’s pay ranges between $3 to $75 for each survey you complete.
There are many more survey sites out there. If you want to try more, check out this article with over 40 sites.
Believe it or not, you can actually make money with Reddit!
Here are the top two reputable subreddits you should check out.
r/SlaveLabor
I know, the name probably doesn’t sound appealing. However, it’s actually a great place to find small jobs that will pay you a few dollars just for completing.
Users can complete small tasks and then get paid. You might be hired to transcribe something, design a graphic, or even just send a message for someone.
It’s definitely not your typical job spot, but you can definitely find ways to earn a dollar there.
r/ForHire
This is another Reddit dedicated to people who want to make money. Unlike r/SlaveLabor, this subreddit is more for higher-paying jobs.
Most of these jobs take longer to complete, of course, but it might be a good thing to do on your weekend. Usually, the jobs pay $15 an hour, which definitely surpasses the $1 goal.
Cash Back Apps
The following are apps that can make your money back just from doing simple shopping trips.
Ibotta
While this won’t earn you money every day, it will earn you money on the days you go grocery shopping. Check the app for cashback deals, buy the food you need or know you’ll eat that week, scan your receipt, and you’re done! It’s that easy.
Check out our full Ibotta review here.
Receipt Pal
This is a similar app to Ibotta that lets you scan receipts to earn cashback. They also give you extra opportunities to earn by playing a game after every four scans.
Check out the review we did on Receipt Pal here.
Paribus
Update: Now known as Capital One Shopping.
If you do a lot of online shopping, this is a good option for you. It scans through your emails looking for purchases you’ve made for the past 30 days. If the price of an item has dropped since you bought it, it will contact the retailer and ask for cashback. It’s basically an automatic refund with no work!
Driving
You can earn cash just by using your car to do tasks for people. Obviously, to do these ideas, you’ll have to have a reliable car and you’ll need to be able to drive. Here are some ways we suggest you try.
Uber or Lyft
It’s a simple concept: drive people to wherever they need to go. You literally only need to make one trip to make over $1. Not bad, for something that only takes 20 minutes, right?
The only downside is you have to have a nice, clean car at all times.
If you want to know more, here are some articles we did on Uber and Lyft:
Food Delivery
In a similar vein, you can also deliver food to people. This usually takes about 20 minutes and you can make about $10 per trip. Best of all, you don’t need to work at a restaurant to do this. Uber Eats and DoorDash both let you do delivery.
Instacart
This app is a grocery delivery service for people who can’t go outside to shop for whatever reason. Not only are you helping people out, but you’re also getting paid!
Sell your Stuff
This is less about a specific site and more about looking at things you can sell. There’s a lot of sites dedicated to buying or thrifting items you might have thought you’d be stuck with forever.
Here are some ideas:
- Gift cards – sell them at Cardpool, Raise
- Old electronics – Gazelle, Amazon trade-in
- General items – eBay, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Nextdoor
- Photos – Shutterstock
- Music – Bandcamp
Sell Lesson Plans
If you’re a teacher, this is one you’ll want to check out. Teachers Pay Teachers is a site where teachers can buy and sell lesson plans.
You set your own price and the site pays you every month whatever you earned. It’s a great way to build up a passive income if you sell enough of them.
Become a Social Media Influencer
You see influencers on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube all the time, even if you don’t realize it. People are making money just by advertising stuff on social media. Here are some sites you can check into joining.

Odd Jobs
The following are sites and apps that pay you to do various tasks or jobs you might not think of doing.

With the app Rover, you can make money by offering to watch or walk dogs for pet owners. Just one walk will easily earn you $10 fast.
Tutor English Online
Teaching English online can provide a steady, easy way to make at least $50 a day if you are accepted into a tutoring platform.
Many online tutoring platforms don’t require their tutors to hold a degree, and the other platforms that have degree requirements accept Bachelor degrees in any field.
Check out our article on online teaching jobs here.
CrowdSource
This site trains you to do various types of tasks. Then, you can start earning money by selecting whatever tasks you want to work on.
Sometimes it might be hard to find work, so you don’t want to rely on this as your only option, but it’s still a good idea to sign up and see what you can earn.
Amazon MTurk
This site gives users tiny tasks that they can complete to earn a few cents. Generally, the tasks are things AI and computers can do themselves, such as identifying objects in a photo or verifying people’s writing.
It’s not a great site to earn a living, however, you can usually earn at least a dollar after doing twenty or so tasks.
Task Rabbit
If you don’t mind leaving the house, this could be a great opportunity for you. Task rabbit is basically a job forum for locations near you. They have numerous jobs you can do like:
- Handyman
- Cleaning
- Delivery
- Moving
- Furniture Assembly
- Personal Assistant
Just one job a day can get you more than $1.
Dolly
Dolly is a website where you can offer to help people to move in exchange for about $15 an hour. If you’re a strong person who can handle physical labor, this would be a good place to look.
Freelancing Sites
Are you an artist? Writer? Graphic designer? Videographer? These are the sites you’ll want to get in on:
You can take on whatever projects get offered to you and set your own schedule. Great if you want to have a side hustle you can do on the weekends.

Tips on How to Earn One Dollar Daily
Making your first $1 online or offline is very easy to do with any of these apps and sites. Here are a few tips that will help you turn that dollar a day into $10, $20, $30 per day or even $100.
- If a site has an app that lets you earn money, use it when you’re out waiting in line at a store or waiting for an appointment.
- Not all surveys are good. Some don’t pay enough to make them worth your time. If you notice a survey is going to take an hour, you’re better off doing something else instead.
- Don’t try to do all of these at once. Instead, just pick three or four to try for a few days. If you don’t like one program after trying it, swap it out for another one. Once you find the ones you love to do, you can fit them into your regular schedule.
- When signing up for survey sites, make a new email address to link them too. That way, your personal email won’t be flooded by all these sites.
- It’s a good idea to have multiple receipt scanning apps at the same time. That way, if one app doesn’t give you money for something another app might.

Again thank you especially for checking on the legitimacy on sites out there, and keeping us from falling in the hands of shameless heathens out there waiting to screw anybody they can for a buck or worse.
