In fact, it’s even banned its own players from sharing footage of games!

Yes really! Teams are no longer allowed to film inside the stadium during the game and upload it to their social media. They can’t use Facebook Live, Periscope, or any other app to stream anything live in the stadium either.

Also, teams aren’t allowed to take highlights of events on the field and make it their own by using their own video, or post highlights from TV right to social media. And teams aren’t allowed to turn highlights into GIFs either.

Teams that violate this policy are fined between $25,000 and $100,000.

And, the NFL is just as strict with its consumers.

It even shut down church Super Bowl Parties!

Where to Stream NFL Games

NFL games are available with certain DIRECTV packages.

With DIRECTV, the cheapest package that includes the NFL Sunday Ticket costs $45 a month, plus up to $8.49 a month in taxes and fees.

So, you’d pay about $53 a month at least.

The caveat here is that you have to pay that $45 a month for 24 months.

On the AT&T website, is says:

“*All DIRECTV offers require 24-mo. TV agreement. $19.95 ACTIVATION, EARLY TERMINATION FEE OF $20/MO. FOR EACH MONTH REMAINING ON AGMT., EQUIPMENT NON-RETURN & ADD’L FEES APPLY.”

This means you end up paying $1,080 over two years! That’s quite a lot in our book.

Plus, if you only want to watch the season games, which last just 4 months a year, you’d be paying $135 a month!

Free & Cheap NFL Streaming Sites & Networks

Do you have to pay $1000+ to watch the season on cable?

Heck no!

Nowadays, there are plenty of ways that you can watch NFL games for free, without breaking the law.

Now, we’re going to level with you here, most of these ways aren’t entirely free, but they are far less expensive than going down the traditional cable route.

There are so many ways that you can watch the NFL, without having to pay tons through DIRECTV.

Also, you can only watch games on your mobile devices.

For highlights though, the app is a good option.

3. Sign up for NFL Game Pass

The NFL has a subscription service called Game Pass. With it, you can watch live NFL preseason games, and replay all 256 regular season games. You can also listen to live game-day radio broadcasts.

NFL Game Pass is not free though.

It costs $99.99 for the season.

But, cable can cost you that in just a month. So Game Pass works out so much better cost-wise.

You can pay four installments instead if you want, which costs $29.99 for each installment. So paying for the whole season at once is the most cost-effective option.

If you’re looking for NFL streams, you should consider getting Game Pass.

You can even get a free seven day trial to see if you like the service.

4. Get free Thursday night games with Amazon Prime

• Get it: You can sign up to Amazon Prime here.
• Cost: $199 for the year (or $12.99 a month)

This has to be one of the easiest ways to get NFL streams online, at least for Thursday night games anyway.

All you need to do to get these games is be a member of Amazon Prime.

Prime gives you free shipping on all orders that contain Prime eligible items.

There’s no shipping minimum either. So you could get free shipping on an order whether it’s worth $8 or $800.

Aside from the shipping, you also get access to movies and TV shows, through Prime’s streaming service, Prime Video, and music.

It only costs $12.99 a month, or you can pay $119 for the whole year.

As a Prime member, you’ll be able to stream Thursday Night Football games at no additional cost.

Sling TV might just be the answer. Sling TV is good option because it lets you watch football live, but it also gives you other great TV content.

The NFL Game Pass is good if you literally just want the games. If you’re after a more well-rounded package, where you can get other channels too, then Sling is a good option.

To get the NFL coverage on Sling, you will need to get the Sling Blue + Sports Extra package.

With this, you not only get access to games broadcast on NBC select markets, but you also get access to the NFL Network, and additional coverall on the NFL RedZone.

For anyone who wants to watch the NFL Network online, Sling is a great choice.

If you add Sling Orange as well, you can watch Monday Night Football on ESPN.

You can get 40% off your first month on Sling TV Blue at the moment. So you can get your first month for $15, rather than $25. The sports package costs an additional $5.

6. Sign up for Hulu + Live TV

Hulu + Live TV is around the same price per month as one of the DIRECTV packages.

But, over the course of the season, it actually works out much cheaper – for one reason:

You can cancel your Hulu subscription at any time.

So you can just pay for Hulu during the season, and then cancel your subscription when the season is finished.

You’d pay about $179.96 for the four month season, making this a cheaper option that the 24 month contract you’d have to get from DIRECTV.

With Hulu + Live TV, you can stream live NFL games, as well as other sports games, at home or on the go.

That’s not all though. You also get access to lots of other TV shows in categories, like news and entertainment.

So, for the monthly fee, you get access to the NFL and the entire Hulu streaming library.

There’s a free seven-day trial available as well. So you can try Hulu for a week, see if you like it, and if not, you can cancel it, without having to paying anything!

8. Check out PlayStation Vue Core + Sports

We think that PlayStation Vue is on the pricier side, but it’s still cheaper than accessing NFL games through DIRECTV.

What makes it cheaper is the fact that like with Hulu, you can cancel your subscription at any time and there’s no long term contract in place.

So, for four months, you’d end up paying $259.96 to watch the NFL season.

Like we said above, with DIRECTV, you’re stuck paying the $45 a month for 24 months. So, you’re paying about $540 for the four months of football!

With PlayStation Vue, you can live stream HD channels, get thousands of on demand shows, and also get cloud DVR. You can also get 10 viewing profiles with personalized DVR.
