9. Hotel Chains
Hotels are known for providing lots of different services to guests, like wi-fi, for example. A faxing service is a service that some hotels provide.
Some hotels have a business center for guests where there’s a fax machine they can use, or they’ll have a fax machine in a private office for employees. Either way, hotels usually have a fax machine somewhere that you can either use yourself, or that they’ll use to send a fax for you. Simply ask at the desk.
If you’re not a guest at the hotel, you still may be able to get something faxed for you. But you may have to pay a small fee.
10. Local Banks
Most banks offer fax services to their customers. And this faxing service is often free. Even if your bank doesn’t specify on its site that it offers fax services to customers, it still may. Just call your bank to see if it will fax documents for you, and if it does, ask how much it will cost. It could be free, or you may have to pay a small fee. If you’re not a member of a bank near you that offers faxing services, then just ask anyway if it will fax documents for you either for free or for a small fee.
11. Credit Unions
Like banks, many credit unions will provide a free fax service to their customers.
Some local libraries provide a fax service. Not all of them do though. Just call or visit your local library to see if they offer a fax service and what it costs. Some library even offer free fax services.
13. Travel Agent Offices
Some local travel agent offices will allow visitors to fax documents if they’re away from home. So, if you are currently traveling and need to fax something, you could consider contacting a local travel agency. Not all agencies offer fax services, but it’s an option to consider if you’re not near your hometown. Search Google for the term “travel agency near me” to find a travel agency.
14. Ask Friends and Family
Ask friends and family if they have access to a fax machine. You’d be surprised at how many people have a fax machine at work or even in their home office. Just ask a friend or family member if they would be willing to fax a document for you.
15. At Work (Just ask your boss first)
You may be able to use the fax machine at work. But, if you’re going to fax non-work-related documents, do make sure that you ask your boss first! It’s likely that they’ll let you use the fax machine for free.
16. Your Apartment Complex
Do you live in an apartment complex? If so, then you may be able to send faxes there. Some apartment complexes have a small business center in the leasing office. So, if your apartment complex has a business center, it could include a fax machine. You could likely use this machine to send faxes for free, or at least for a small fee.
17. University and College Campuses
If you’re a student, then you may be able to send faxes on your campus for free or for a small fee. Many colleges and university campuses have a fax machine that students can use. Ask at the library or ask a counsellor to see if your campus has a fax machine available to students.

There are times when we need to fax things over, but don’t know where to find a fax machine. In these cases, it’s good to have a list of places you can check. The best part about the places and tips that I gave you above is that some of them are free!
Now, you’ll notice that the USPS didn’t appear on our list.
A common question that I see online when people want to know where to fax something is, “Will the post office fax something for me?”
And, sadly, the answer is no. The United States Postal Service does not provide a fax service. I just wanted to mention that in case you were wondering. Now, there are plenty of other options to try, as you can see from our list above, so do give those a try.
Do you know of any places where you can send faxes that I haven’t mentioned on the list above? If so, make sure you let us know about them in the comments section below.
