Today’s post is a review of the Amazon Shopper Panel, an Amazon program that essentially gives you free Amazon gift certificates for shopping on Amazon.
Amazon is a hugely popular shopping platform. In fact, Amazon.com gets more than 2.45 billion visitors every month.
While most of us shop on Amazon thanks to its bargain prices, huge range of products, and fast deliveries, not everyone is aware that Amazon also provides people with plenty of opportunities to make money.
A few popular options include doing small tasks on Mturk, publishing books with Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and selling t-shirts with Merch by Amazon.
A newer program on offer from the retail giant is called the Amazon Shopper Panel. This is kind of like Amazon’s own reward program, like Swagbucks or Ibotta that’ll give you money for really easy tasks.
Should you give it a try? Or is it one that you should miss?
FreeCash: It pays you to test apps, play games & take surveys. Get paid up to $497.82 per offer! Start Earning!

That’s what this post is all about. I’ll cover how making money from the Amazon Shopper Panel works, and whether or not it’s worth your time.

What is the Amazon Shopper Panel?
The Amazon Shopper Panel is an opt-in, invitation-only program where people can earn monthly rewards.
Rewards can be earned by sharing your receipts from stuff you purchase outside of Amazon.com, and by completing short surveys.
You can kind of see it as a small way to get cashback on Amazon purchases.
How Does Amazon Shopper Panel Work?
So, how exactly does the program work?
Below, I’ve covered exactly how you can earn money from the Amazon Shopper Panel, so you can get a better idea of how the whole process works.
Step One: Join the program
The first, step, of course, is to join the program. I don’t know if you saw it earlier, but I mentioned how this is an invitation-only program.
So, if you’re selected for the program, Amazon will email you an invite and you can download the app and start earning.
Now, Amazon says that this is available to a limited number of Amazon customers in the US, but it also says that if you don’t receive an invite, you can still download the app.
In the app you’re able to check for openings, and if there’s no space then you can go on the waitlist.
Advertisements
I would recommend downloading the app and getting yourself on that wait list as soon as possible.
Here’s where you can get the app:
Once you’re on the waitlist, you’ll be notified if a spot opens up. It’s totally free to download and use the Amazon Shopper Panel app.
If you received an invitation to join the panel, then you’ll need to sign in to the app using the same email address that is associated with the invited Amazon.com account.
If you are using an Android device and are signed into any other Amazon apps using a different Amazon.com account, then you will need to sign out of the Amazon Shopper Panel app, and then sign back in using the invited Amazon.com account.
Step Two: Earn rewards
Now you’re all signed up, it’s time to start earning rewards. Amazon actually has a couple of different ways that users can earn rewards.
Share receipts
The main way you earn money with the program is by sharing your receipts. This is an easy way to earn money. It’s sort of like Ibotta, where you get paid for uploading receipts from your purchases.
The receipts you share must be from purchases you’ve made outside of Amazon. The program allows you to receive a reward when you submit 10 eligible receipts within a month.
Earning rewards is easy. Simply upload 10 eligible receipts per month by using the Amazon Shopper Panel app to take pictures of paper receipts or by forwarding email receipts to receipts@panel.amazon.com. You’ll receive a reward when you submit 10 or more eligible receipts in a month.
Uploading your receipts
Okay, so how do you upload your receipts with the program? Well, it’s actually pretty easy.
There are two ways you can do it:
- Use the Amazon Shopper Panel app to take pictures of your receipts.
- Forward email receipts to receipts@panel.amazon.com using the email address associated with your Amazon.com account.
You’ll need to make sure you share your receipts by 11:59 PM PST on the last day of a month to be eligible for that month’s reward.
Once you have uploaded a receipt, Amazon Shopper Panel will review it to see if it is eligible. Receipts are usually reviewed for eligibility within 6 hours.
If Amazon says that a receipt isn’t eligible, then you can see the reason for this by tapping on a receipt to view the status message.
If Amazon marks a receipt as not eligible, and you believe it to be a mistake, then you can request a review.
To request a review, you’ll need to go to the specific receipt from either the recent receipts list or your receipt history.
You’ll then find the “Request review” option in the menu in the top right corner of the receipt’s details.
Once your receipts are uploaded, Amazon saves them for 12 months.
Uploaded receipt images won’t be stored on your device, unless you choose to download them.
And, if you want to delete a receipt after you’ve uploaded it, then you can do. Simply go to the specific receipt from either the recent receipts list or your receipt history, and you’ll find the delete option within the menu in the top right corner of the receipt’s details.
When you choose this option, Amazon will delete the receipt image, and all the information extracted from the receipt. Keep in mind that if you delete a receipt, that receipt won’t count towards your monthly reward.
If you delete a receipt from a prior month after you have received your reward, then it will not impact your earned reward from that month.
What Receipts does Amazon Shopper Panel Take?
Amazon accepts pretty much all receipts for purchases made outside of Amazon within the past 30 days.
It accepts receipts from a variety of retailers such as:
- Grocery stores
- Drug stores
- Department stores
Receipts from entertainment outlets are also eligible, such as:
- Restaurants
- Movie theaters
- Theme parks
What receipts are NOT eligible for the Amazon Shopper Panel?
Amazon Shopper Panel accepts a huge variety of receipts, but there are some that are not eligible.
Receipts that are NOT eligible include those from Amazon and other Amazon stores. This includes receipts from:
- Amazon.com
- Whole Foods Market
- AmazonGo
- Amazon Four Star
- Amazon Books
Other receipts that are NOT eligible include those for:
- Medical expenses
- Gambling
- Firearms
- Housing
- Mass transit
- School tuition or childcare
- Legal and financial services
Amazon Shopper Panel also doesn’t accept:
- Handwritten receipts
- Non-English language receipts
- Receipts from outside the U.S.
- Duplicate receipts
Take short surveys
While receipts are the main draw here, they’re not the only way you can earn rewards.
The program also sends out surveys to members. These are short surveys about brands or products. For each one you complete, you’ll earn rewards.
You can view the amount you’ll earn before you choose to complete the survey.
Types of surveys on offer
Surveys are short, which is always good because when you’re busy, answering ones that take ages is just not ideal.
These short surveys are about brands and products. For example, you may be asked how likely you are to purchase a product or what you think about an ad. You don’t have to complete particular surveys if you don’t want to. Just choose surveys that interest you.
Where to find surveys
The Amazon Shopper Panel app will display notifications within the app when new surveys become available. Also, you can receive a push notification on your phone if you have push notifications enabled. It’s pretty easy really.
You can find all available surveys by tapping on the “Surveys” button on the home screen.
Each survey is only available through its expiration date, and you can find that in the list of available surveys.
Step Three: Get your rewards
Okay, so you’ve uploaded 10 receipts and you may have even taken a few surveys, how can you get your rewards?
It’s pretty simple. The Amazon Shopper Panel issues rewards to users once per month.
You will get your reward within the first 48 hours of the following month.
For example, if you earned rewards in September, then you would get these rewards by October 2nd.
Amazon also sends out emails to confirm the details of any reward you earned for the prior month.
The program offers two different rewards:
Money added to your Amazon Balance
You can have $10 added to your Amazon Balance. Then, next time you go to purchase something from Amazon.com, your Amazon Balance will automatically be applied at checkout.
And, you, of course, have the option to save your Amazon Balance to use on future purchases.
If you have a few Amazon accounts, you’ll only see the Amazon balance added to the same Amazon account that you use to sign in to the Amazon Shopper Panel app. That’s why it’s important to use the email associated with the Amazon account that you most often use to buy stuff.
A charitable donation
Money can also be donated to charity.
So, if you want, Amazon will make a $10 donation to a charitable organization of your choosing.
100% of your monthly reward amount is donated as well, which is great.
Here are the charitable organizations you can donate to:
- Alzheimer’s Association
- American Cancer Society
- American Red Cross
- ASPCA
- charity: water
- Doctors Without Borders
- Feeding America
- Habitat for Humanity
- Jude Children’s Research Hospital
- The Nature Conservancy
- Thurgood Marshall College Fund
- United Negro College Fund
You can get more information about these organizations by tapping on “Change reward” in the “Rewards” tab, and then tapping “Learn More” next to each organization.
Rewards for surveys
Taking surveys will also earn you rewards, as I mentioned earlier. And, if you complete surveys during any month, Amazon will add the survey rewards to either your Amazon Balance or your charitable donation.
If you didn’t submit eligible receipts in a month, you still receive any survey rewards earned during the month as either an Amazon Balance or charitable donation.
How to choose your Amazon Shopper Panel Reward
When you first log in to the Amazon Shopper Panel, you will be asked to choose a reward. The default selection is Amazon Balance.
So, when you first login, your reward will be sent to the Amazon Balance option.
If you want to donate your rewards to charity, you’ll need to select that option.
You can change your reward up until 11:59 PM PST on the last day of the month.
You can choose your reward type for the current month by going to the “Rewards” tab and tapping “Change Reward.” Then, simply choose your reward type for the current month.
Once the month ends, you won’t be able to change the reward type for the previous month. You can, however, change it for the current month and future months.
Whatever reward type you select applies to rewards earned by uploading eligible receipts and by completing surveys.
So if you choose to get your rewards as an Amazon Balance, then any rewards you earn for uploading your receipts or taking surveys will be paid out that way.
You can only choose one type of reward per month.
Is Amazon Shopper Panel Legit?
Yes! The program is very well-reviewed by panelists. The app is highly rated on both the Google Play Store and The App Store.
Let’s take a look at how panelists have rated app.
Google Play Store
On the Google Play Store, the Amazon Shopper Panel app has more than 51,000 reviews and a 5-star rating.
That’s a really great rating, and I don’t often see apps that’re that highly reviewed.
One user says:
- “Waited a day or two on the waitlist and received my invitation email. All you need is 10 receipts to make $10 a month. It’s easy and simple. They accept email receipts as well which is awesome. They don’t accept amazon receipts which is fine. Hope in the future you can make more in a month. But so far so good. Also it pays to a charity of your choice or straight to your Amazon balance.”
The App Store
On the App Store, the Amazon Shopper Panel app has more than 72,000 reviews and a 4.9 star-rating, which, again, I don’t often see with many apps.
One panelist says:
- “Excellent App! After being invited to participate in the shopper panel I decided to give it a try. I mean why not earn money each month when I always have receipts from my daily purchases? So far I am going on my third month & absolutely love how simple it is! Very user friendly app & very easy to submit receipts with clear instructions! Only thing I would change is the opportunity to do more surveys. But still love it!”
FAQs
Okay, so now you know how the program works and that it’s legit.
In this section, I just wanted to answer a few questions you may have about the panel.
How much can you make on the Amazon Shopper Panel?
The Amazon Shopper Panel app allows you to earn a $10 reward for any month in which you upload 10 eligible receipts.
Basically, 1 receipt = $1.
That’s a pretty high payout per receipt.
However, the max you can earn for is 10 receipts a month.
You don’t earn additional rewards for sharing more than 10 receipts in a month, and any additional receipts you share will not carry over to the following month.
The amount of money you’ll earn from taking surveys varies from survey to survey.
Typically, surveys pay between $0.25 to $1 each.
That’s not a huge amount, but the surveys are short and pretty simple to complete.
Your survey earnings are in addition to the rewards you get for sharing receipts.
Some people may only get four or five surveys in a month and others may get double that. The number of survey invites you receive will depend on not only how many surveys are available from the program at the time, but also on your demographics.
You could make $120 a year from sharing 10 receipts every month and if you take 5 surveys a month, you could make $5 a month, taking your total income up to $15 a month and $180 a year.
You are able to see the amount you’ll be paid for the survey before responding, which is good. Be sure to set up notifications so that you get an alert when surveys become available. That way, you don’t miss out on opportunities to earn extra money.
Why does Amazon Shopper Panel want receipts?
Amazon says, “We will use any information you share with us through the program to help brands offer better products and make Amazon ads more relevant and otherwise in accordance with Amazon’s Privacy Notice.”
According to Amazon, these purposes may include:
- Advertising measurement: So, Amazon may use your purchase information to measure the effectiveness of advertising in order to help advertisers to understand the relationship between ads and product purchases on an aggregate level.
- Inform models used for advertising: Amazon may use your information to help it build models about which groups of customers are likely to be interested in certain products.
- Research: So, it might use your survey responses to help brands get feedback on new or existing products. And, your survey responses may be used to help advertisers to understand how customers respond to ads.
- Product and content selection: Amazon may use your receipts and survey responses to improve the product selection on Amazon.com and at affiliate stores, like Whole Foods Market. It may also use your information and survey responses to improve the content it offers through Amazon services like Prime Video.
How many receipts can you scan on Amazon Shopper Panel?
You can scan 10 receipts a month. Some people wonder if there’s a way to upload 20 receipts. However, uploading more than 10 receipts doesn’t gain you any additional money. Members are only able to get paid for 10 receipts per month.
Amazon Shopper Panel Pros and Cons
Now you know how the whole thing works, should you give the Amazon Shopper Panel a try?
Let’s take a look at some pros and cons
Pros
I like to start out with the positives, and with the Amazon Shopper Panel there are many.
Here’s why you should sign up for the panel:
Super easy to earn money
What I like about this app is how easy it is to make money.
Just for uploading 10 receipts, you’ll earn $10. It’s really that easy. Complete surveys too, and you’ll earn even more money.
Pays quite a lot per receipt
You’re not getting pennies per receipt here. No, with the Amazon Shopper Panel, each receipt is worth $1. That’s a pretty high payout per receipt.
Accepts most receipts
The panel accepts a lot of receipts. Most retailer and restaurant receipts are accepted, which is great. It means that you have lots of options available and can easily get 10 receipts to upload every month.
Highly praised by panelists
People who’ve used the app rate it incredibly well. It’s always good to see 4- and 5-star ratings for apps on The Google Play Store or the App Store as it means that people have a good experience using it. And, that’s definitely the case with the Amazon Shopper Panel app. It is very well-rated by customers, who say they earn money with it easily.
Cons
To be honest, there aren’t many downsides to this program.
There are a couple of cons, but they are minor. These include:
Limited reward options
There are no PayPal payments, checks, or direct to bank payments offered through the program.
Aside from charitable donations, the only reward option is $10 to your Amazon Balance.
I don’t see this as much of a con myself because you can buy pretty much anything you can think of on Amazon. Whenever I get a gift card, I use it to buy things like clothes and skincare products that I might not have purchased with my own money. It’s basically free cash to spend on Amazon.
For those who want to earn money they can spend anywhere, however, The Amazon Shopper Panel isn’t the best choice because you can only get money on your Amazon balance.
You can only earn $10 from your receipts each month
There’s a limit of $10 for receipts each month. This means that your earnings are capped, and you can’t earn any more than $120 a year for uploading your receipts. That being said, you can earn extra cash by taking surveys there as well.
Invitation only
Not a huge deal, but not quite as convenient as simply signing up and earning. Although it is invite-only, you can, as I mentioned earlier, download the app and get on the waitlist. So, it’s really not much of a big deal.
Overall Verdict
Overall, the Amazon Shopper Panel is worth it. Making money with it is so easy. Sure, you’re not going to make a ton from this, but you can bring in at least $120 extra a year just for uploading receipts alone.
Factor in those surveys too, and that number could reach $180 or more a year. Why not bring in that extra money when it’s so easy?
And if you shop on Amazon a lot, it’s a great way, combined with these Amazon hacks, to save more money.
Hopefully, this Amazon Shopper Panel review helped you to decide whether or not the program is for you. For us, it’s definitely worthwhile. The great customer reviews paired with how easy the program makes it for panelists to earn make this a great choice for anyone looking to earn extra cash.
Have you ever participated in the Amazon Shopper Panel program? If so, let us know how it went in the comments section below.
Dawn
I absolutely love the Amazon Shopper Panel! extremely easy passive income! Sure it’s $10 for 10 receipts but I have noticed that the more receipts you submit, the more surveys you are offered. Surveys are only available for about a day but I have managed to pull in $15 a couple of times by submitting all of my receipts and getting more surveys. It takes barely any time to take the picture, hit the upload button and that’s all. you are done.
