100+ Stores That Accept Affirm in 2026 [The Ultimate List]

Advertisements

A person using their phone to make an in-store payment with the Affirm Card at a checkout counter.Stores that accept Affirm have exploded in number recently.

I actually had no idea how common BNPL apps like Affirm had become until I saw a small “Affirm accepted” sign at my local Costco checkout last week.

I had a cart full of random things (because it’s Costco, of course), and all of a sudden that “pay later” option felt very real.

I had always thought this was just for online stuff (Affirm starting as an app and all!), but nope, you can use Buy Now Pay Later services everywhere, big stores, small shops, and even some travel websites now.

In fact a Federal Reserve report showed that 14% of U.S. adults used buy now, pay later services like Affirm in 2022, and the number keeps growing.

No surprise there really!

Affirm lets you split your purchase into smaller payments over time. And you don’t need a credit card to use it.

Not to mention, if you qualify, you’ll pay 0% interest.

I’ve gone through Affirm’s official partner list, press releases, and actual store checkouts to give you the most updated list of where you can use Affirm in 2026.

So if you are looking for places where you can pay over time with Affirm, here’s everything you need…

How to Use Affirm: A Step-by-Step Guide

Using Affirm to pay for stuff is pretty easy. But depending on whether you’re shopping online or in a physical store, the process can be a bit different.

How to Use Affirm Online

This is the most common way to use Affirm.

  • Step 1: Do your shopping online as normal. Then when you get to the checkout page, choose “Affirm” as your payment method.
  • Step 2: Once you do that, you’ll be redirected to Affirm to sign in or create an account. Affirm performs a quick, soft credit check that won’t affect your credit score.
  • Step 3: Affirm will show you a few different payment plan options (like pay in 4, or pay over 6, 12, or 24 months). Choose one that works for you.
  • Step 4: Double check everything and confirm your loan plan selection.

Once you do that, you’ll be automatically redirected back to the merchant’s website to finish your shopping!

How to Use Affirm In-Store (with the Affirm Card)

  • Step 1: First, you need to apply for the Affirm Card through the Affirm app. It’s a virtual card that you can add to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet.
  • Step 2: Before you pay, open the Affirm app. Enter the total purchase amount (including taxes) and request a payment plan for that amount.
  • Step 3: Then, just like online, you’ll see a few payment plan options. Pick one that is the best for you.
  • Step 4: Once your plan is activated, tap your phone at the credit card reader to pay using the Affirm Card in your digital wallet.

That’s it. You just used Affirm to pay for your purchase!

How to Use Affirm at Stores That Don’t Take Affirm

Obviously I couldn’t fit every single store that takes Affirm since the list is in the thousands. But a store not being on this list doesn’t mean you can’t use Affirm there.

That said, there are still stores that haven’t partnered with Affirm. If a store you like is in that group, here’s a quick hack you can use to pay using Affirm even though they don’t officially accept Affirm.

Check for Virtual Card Option!

A handy little thing about Affirm is that it lets you create virtual cards you can use anywhere Mastercard is accepted. So even if a store doesn’t directly partner with Affirm, you might still be able to pay with Affirm financing by using a virtual Affirm credit card!

More Stores That Accept Affirm (By Category)

While the table above covers the most popular stores, please keep in mind that this list by no means covers all of them.

Affirm partners with over 320,000 merchants in different categories. For the most complete and up-to-date list, I would search on the official Affirm app or their website.

With that said, here is a more extensive list of top Affirm retailers to help you find what you’re looking for.

What Happened to Walmart and Affirm?

If you have searched for “does Walmart accept Affirm“, you might have been confused (just like I was when researching for this post).

There is tons of conflicting information out there. Some places say no, Walmart doesn’t take Affirm, some say yes, it does.

So which is it?

Well, as of July 2025, Walmart does accept Affirm.

The confusion comes from 2021-2022 when Walmart very publicly announced an exclusive, high-profile partnership with Affirm’s main competitor, Klarna, for in-store and online checkout. So the report was that it wouldn’t take Affirm anymore.

Thankfully, that changed, and as of 2025, Walmart has re-established its partnership and now officially accepts Affirm for payment both online and in-store.

And yes, Walmart is now one of many stores that accept Klarna and Affirm.

Costco Now Accepts Affirm (Here’s What You Should Know)

I know Costco is very popular, so I wanted to add a little note about it and Affirm.

Yes, Costco now accepts Affirm!

Now, keep in mind there is a limit. You can use Affirm to finance eligible Costco purchases between $500 and $17,500.

I like this because it means you can now pay for big-ticket stuff (think TVs, furniture, appliances, etc.) using Affirm.

If you used to use your high APR credit card to cover big item purchases, using Affirm could save you a lot of money. That said, make sure you know what your APR is going to be. If you have good credit, it’s usually on the lower side. But always check. You don’t want to end up paying $4000 for a $500 TV!

To use Affirm at Costco, when you get to the checkout, choose Affirm as your payment method (this can be online or in-store). You’ll see your payment plan options right away, with no surprises.

Understanding Affirm’s Terms: APR, Fees, and Credit

With BNPL apps, basically, instead of paying the full amount upfront, you split your purchase into smaller payments (usually over 3, 6, or 12 months). So you get to take whatever you bought home today, but pay for it over time.

Depending on the retailer and your credit, some plans are even 0% APR. But most have big APRs, which can be as high as 36%! (I mean, they are a financial company and just like banks and credit card companies, they make their money with those huge APRs and fees).

What I like about them, though, is that unlike banks and credit card companies that try to hide every important detail in the fine print, Affrim will show you your total cost upfront so you always know exactly how much you will end up paying. There are also no hidden fees and no late fees ever.

Obviously you have to apply and get approved for it. It’s usually fast.

Affirm does a soft credit check (so it won’t hurt your credit score), and then shows you the payment plan options instantly at checkout.

You just pick the one that works best for your budget.

Tips for Using Affirm Smartly

Now, if you have been a MoneyPantry reader for a while, you know my position. I don’t like buying things I can’t afford and pay for right then and there. But I know life happens and sometimes you have to use what’s available.

So while using Affirm can be a great way to spread out payments, make sure to use it correctly.

Here are some tips to help you get the most from Affirm without ending up paying 10 times the actual price.

APR Ranges & 0% Financing

As I mentioned earlier, Affirm’s APR depends on both the retailer you’re buying from and your credit profile. It can be as low as 0% or as high as 36% (yikes!).

That’s why it’s important to check your APR offer before committing to a plan. After all, the whole point of using services like Affirm is to save money, not end up paying more than you would with a regular credit card.

Credit Impact

This is important, so pay close attention, especially if your credit score matters to you (which it should, since a higher score helps you qualify for loans and credit cards with lower interest rates).

Affirm usually performs a soft credit check for most purchases, which won’t affect your credit score. However, for more expensive items (where you’re essentially taking out a larger loan), they may do a hard credit pull and that can temporarily lower your score.

So, if you’re planning to finance a home or buy a new car soon, be careful. Even a few points on your credit report can impact the loan terms you’re offered.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Always check the return policy before using Affirm, especially for big or important purchases. (Honestly, that’s a good habit no matter how you’re paying.) Returns can affect your payment plan, so know the details upfront.

Make sure you understand the total amount you’ll be paying over time, including any interest, not just the sticker price!

And always try to pay your bills on time. Late payments mean extra fees and that can have a negative impact on your credit, not to mention your wallet!

Affirm vs Other BNPL Options

When it comes to Buy Now, Pay Later services, Affirm is one of the most popular choices, but it’s not the only one.

Afterpay, Klarna, and PayPal Pay Later also offer the same service.

I made this table so you can see how Affirm compares with them.

Service Approval Interest Rates Availability Pros Cons
Affirm Soft credit check 0%–36% APR depending on merchant US, Canada Transparent terms, no hidden fees, flexible payment plans Higher interest rates possible, not accepted everywhere
Afterpay No credit check 0% interest, but late fees apply US, Australia, UK, Canada Easy approval, no interest if paid on time Late fees can add up, shorter repayment periods
Klarna Soft credit check 0%–29.99% APR US, Europe, Australia Multiple payment options, popular merchant network Late fees and interest possible
PayPal Pay Later Soft credit check 0% interest for 6 months on purchases $99+; otherwise interest applies US Integrated with PayPal, easy checkout Interest if not paid within promotional period

FAQ: Common Questions About Affirm

Does Affirm hurt your credit?

Affirm performs a soft credit check when you apply, which doesn’t affect your credit score. However, missing payments or defaulting can impact your credit negatively. So, as long as you pay on time, Affirm won’t hurt your credit.

By the way, some others like Afterpay, don’t do credit checks at all!

Can you use Affirm on Amazon?

Amazon itself doesn’t directly accept Affirm. But you can use Affirm’s virtual card to pay for purchases on Amazon, just like a regular credit card. Keep in mind that the terms and payment plans apply the same way.

Can I return something I bought with Affirm?

Yes, you can return items bought with Affirm following the retailer’s return policy. When the return is processed, Affirm will adjust your payment plan or refund your payments accordingly. Always check with the store first.

What’s the minimum amount for Affirm?

The minimum purchase amount varies by merchant but is usually around $50. Some stores may have higher minimums. It’s best to check the specific store’s Affirm policy at checkout.

Can you use Affirm for in-store purchases?

Yes! Affirm offers a virtual card that lets you shop in many brick-and-mortar stores that don’t officially list Affirm. Just use the virtual card like a credit card at checkout.

How do I know if a site takes Affirm?

The easiest way is to look for Affirm’s logo or payment option at checkout. You can also use the Affirm app’s store directory to search for merchants or try the virtual card at checkout. If Affirm is accepted, you’ll see it as a payment option.

Can I use Affirm online?

Yes, tons of sites let you pay with Affirm.

Final Thoughts: Is Affirm Worth It?

As you can see, there are many stores that accept Affirm,  from big names like Target and Best Buy to travel sites like Expedia.

So whether you’re shopping for sneakers, flights, or furniture, using Affirm to pay is a great way to break up your payments without a credit card.

I personally like it for large purchases that I’d rather not put on a high-interest card. Just make sure to check for 0% APR offers and know exactly what you’re agreeing to before you hit that final “pay” button.

If you’re not sure Affirm is the right fit, you can compare other BNPL services in my full post on the best BNPL apps here.

But if you’re ready to shop now and pay later, there’s a solid list of stores that accept Affirm waiting for you.
