If you want to buy stuff at low prices, then online auction sites like eBay and the internet in general is the place to shop.
Since online retailers like Amazon don’t have brick and mortar stores to run and therefore fewer overheads, they can offer stuff at lower prices compared to traditional stores.
Now, while the internet in general is a great place to find stuff at bargain prices, you’ll often find even better deals on auction sites.
Auction websites allow you to bid on items and this can often result in you getting items at a fraction of their retail price.
There are a lot of auction sites out there with the most notable one being eBay. But, not all of them are so great.

Table of Contents
Top Online Auctions
Firstly, I’m going to start with the top internet auctions out there.
These sites made our top ten because they are legit, and they have a great rating on sites like Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
So, here are the largest auction sites…
1. eBay
- BBB Rating: A+
eBay is a hugely popular site and I know many people who use it to purchase stuff with great success.
Most of us have heard about eBay, because, well, it’s a popular site.
And, it’s not hard to see why. You can find products in a variety of categories, like:
- Collectibles & Art
- Electronics
- Fashion
- Home & Garden
- Motors
- Sporting goods
There’s so much to choose from. What’s great about eBay is that it often has deals, like Daily Deals, available. And you can even find free shipping offers on some items. Also, if you don’t feel like bidding and would prefer to make a purchase outright, then you’ll be glad to know that you can with eBay’s “Buy It Now” feature.
Now, I noticed that although eBay has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, when you look at the site’s rating on Trustpilot, it’s only 1.5. This means that it’s rated “Bad” on Trustpilot, so there seems to be a difference in opinion here.

On ConsumerAffairs.com, it has a rating of 3.8 and on Sitejabber, it has a rating of 3.4, so that’s slightly better.
