Mr. Rebates Sign Up Bonus ($7.50)
To attract new users, like many other rebate sites, like Rakuten (review), Mr. Rebates also offers sign up bonus.
Here’s how to get your sign up bonus:
First join Mr. Rebates via this sign up link. Then find your desired store (that you want to shop from) through your Mr. Rebates account dashboard and make a purchase at that store.
Not only you earn the regular cashback percentage for that store, but you also get $7.50 cash back as your sign up bonus which will be added to your account (usually within 24-48 hours). You can then cash out your cashback earning via PayPal.
How Do I Use Mr. Rebates?
Like I said above, Mr. Rebates has a:
- Website
- Mobile App
- Browser extension
You can get cashback through all three of them.
Let’s take a look at how each platform works:

How the Mr. Rebates website works
You can visit the website, sign up, and get cashback. The website is awesome because it allows you to get rebates from more than 3,000 stores.
Here’s how it works:
- Find the store you want to shop with. You can use the “Store” drop down menu to browse stores by category. There are also stores featured on the homepage. Or you can enter the name of the store you want into the search bar.
- Click on the store you want and shop as you normally would.
- Buy the item and get cashback.
Aside from cashback, the website also provides coupons. These can save you even more money. Some stores, like Walmart and Target for example, are coupon-only and don’t provide cashback.
How the Mr. Rebates Mobile App works
The mobile app works in much the same way as the website does, enabling you to get cashback at lots of different stores.
There are 2,500 stores available, which is pretty great.
The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
It offers lots of different features, like:
- Mobile cash back shopping
- Online coupons
- The ability to request cash back payments
- It allows you to manage your account
- View your cash back rebates
- An easy search interface
- My favorites
So there are lots of features on offer.
- You can get the mobile app here.
How the Mr. Rebates Browser Extension works
If you prefer to shop from your desktop device, you may want to try out the Mr. Rebates Quick Cash Button. It’s a browser extension that saves you money. You install it on your Chrome browser and it automatically reminds you to activate cashback at thousands of different stores.
Once installed, this extension will show you a slider when you visit a store that’s offering cashback with Mr. Rebates. Then all you need to do is click the slider to activate the cashback. It basically makes getting rebates a whole lot easier. And it ensures that you don’t miss out on rebates.
- You can get the browser extension here.
What Cashback Rates Can You Get?
The cashback offered varies from store to store.
Here are some examples to give you an idea of the cashback rates you can expect from the website:
- Amazon: 6% cashback (please note that rebates are only available at select departments at Amazon and not across the whole website).
- Banana Republic: 6% cashback
- Macy’s: 6% cashback.
- eBay: 1% cashback.
- Calvin Klein: 5% cashback
- QVC: 3% cashback
- JCPenney: 4% cashback
- Adidas: 6% cashback
- Sephora: 3% cashback
- Forever 21: 3% cashback
Please note that while these percentages were accurate at the time of writing, they may change when you come to shop through Mr. Rebates.
How does Mr. Rebates Pay?
You need $10 in “Available Rebates,” to be able to cash out your earnings.
Payment options include PayPal or check in the mail.
Payments are sent at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s payout request. So, for example, if you make a payment request from September 1st to September 30th, it will be processed on the first business day of October.
Is Mr. Rebates Legit?
Mr. Rebates is a legit site. It’s been around for 18 years! This makes it an incredibly well-established site.
Here’s how it’s rated on a few different platforms:
The Better Business Bureau
The Better Business Bureau (BBB), gives Mr. Rebates an A+ rating. That’s impressive, right?
I couldn’t find many customer reviews of the website on there though. There was one 5-star review on the BBB.
Google Play Store
The app is incredibly well-rated by users. On the Google Play store it has more than 300 reviews, and an impressive 4.5 star rating.
One user says:
- “Purchase through different store apps and receive cash back. This app has paid me several hundred dollars since I started using this years ago. It is free to sign up and use. Save on all online purchases!”
Sitejabber
On Sitejabber, there were 30 reviews, and the website had 3.4 stars. Lots of reviewers praised the website. There were some negative reviews on there though, with some people complaining that their cashback was not tracked properly.
Chrome Store
Although it only has 11 reviews on the Chrome store, the browser extension is very well-reviewed, with an almost 5-star rating.
How Does Mr. Rebates Make Money?
How can sites like Mr. Rebates afford to pay people for shopping on other sites? How does the company itself make money?
Well, cashback sites, including Mr. Rebates, earn money through affiliate marketing. Mr. Rebates makes its money by earning affiliate commission for every customer they send to the online stores they work with. It’s a win-win for all three parties involved. The store gets customers, Mr. Rebates makes money as an affiliate, and you, the shopper, earn cashback for buying what you were going to already buy anyway!
Overall Verdict
Overall, Mr. Rebates is a good cashback website. Most people have a good experience with the website. It’s well-rated across multiple platforms.
I would say it’s worth a try if you’re looking to get some rebates when you shop online.
Here’s why:
- Mr. Rebates is easy to use.
- Since there’s a website, a mobile app, and a browser extension available, you can get cashback on multiple devices.
- There are 3,000 stores available.
- PayPal payments are available.
Of course, there are a few downsides to the site. For example, I found that cashback was NOT available for many popular stores like:
- Walmart
- Target
- Best Buy
There were coupons available for these stores though.
And, rebates are only available for specific departments on Amazon, rather than sitewide. But to be fair, there aren’t many ways to get cashback on Amazon anyway.
Overall though, Mr. Rebates is a good website that’s definitely worth using when you shop online.
Hopefully, this Mr. Rebates review helped you to decide whether or not the website is for you.
MARIE TILLMAN
Mr. Rebates is 100%one of the most honest sites out there. I have never had to double check to see if a cash back-payout went through.
I really wanted to commend Mr Rebates, Giving Assistant and Be Frugal as the top 3 places to use before you buy anything online.
Many of those cash back websites sometimes don’t pay at all or if they do it’s not the correct amount promised. I will take a lower payout at a trustworthy company then risk it . I HAVE LEARNED THIS THE HARD WAY!
One other thing about MR. Rebates and Giving Assistant you only have to reach $10 bucks to recieve a payout instead of $25 like all other places.

Hope this helps:)
