In today’s post, I’ll cover lots of places that pay you to read emails and other important details like how much money you can make!

It would be misleading to tell you that there was no such thing as scams in this industry.
The industry itself is no scam, but as within most industries, especially online, there are people who want to take advantage of it.
For every legit PTR site, there are two illegitimate ones that are out there to scam you. There are many stories of people doing the tasks, reaching the payment threshold but the company refusing to pay them. That’s why for this post, I did a lot of research and read a lot of user reviews to make sure I only recommend sites that have a proven track record of being legit paid email sites that do actually pay their users.
And if you come across sites not listed in this post, check out some of the reviews online before wasting your time with them. Use common sense. At the end of the day, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If a site is promising to pay $10 per email you read, run!
So Can You Really Get Paid to Read Emails?
Yes, you can!
If you have some spare time, you could make money by simply reading emails. But, why would anyone pay you to read emails, you ask?
Let me explain…
Basically, most places that pay you for reading emails are Get Paid To (GPT) websites. GPT sites/reward websites pay you for doing a variety of different tasks, including:
- Reading emails
- Taking surveys
- Playing games
- Completing offers
- Watching videos
- Viewing ads
- Shopping
If you’ve read any of the other articles on MoneyPantry, you’ve likely seen us mention GPT sites before, like Swagbucks, for example. They give you an easy way to make money, and many of them pay you for reading emails.
Now, when it comes to making money with emails, you’re not going to earn for reading any old email. No, to be a little more specific, you’ll earn for reading emails from these reward sites that contain links to companies/advertisers that they have partnered with.
Advertisements
This could be a clothing brand or a streaming platform, for example, and you get paid for opening up the email. Some may require you to click on a link or do a short survey describing what the email was about.
For every new visitor that these GPT sites send to these advertisers or for how many emails users open, these GPT sites get a commission. This is how they can afford to pay you to read these emails.
The advertiser pays the site to send you the email and the site pays you for reading it.
So, it’s legit.
It’s basically advertising. You’re not obligated to buy anything. All you need to do is read the emails, click the links, and you’ll get the money.
Aside from getting paid to read emails through GPT/reward sites, there are a couple of other ways to make money with emails, and I’ll cover those below too!
How Much Do You Get Paid to Read Emails?
So, how much money can you make here? Well, you’re not going to be rich, I’ll level with you here!
This won’t give you a huge income, or really even a part-time income. What reading emails can do though is give you a little extra cash that you can use to buy stuff, top up your savings a little, or just pay for a cup of coffee from Starbucks on the way to work. Basically, it’s a good way to make beer money.
There are a couple of more “job-style” options aside from reading emails through GPT sites. These pay a little more but require way more effort. So, weigh up what you want here. If you’re looking for an easy way to make money in your downtime, reading paid emails is a good choice, but it’s not going to make you rich by any means!
A good way to earn more with GPT sites is to do other tasks aside from reading emails. This could include taking surveys or playing games.
Best Places to Get Paid to Read Emails
Okay, so now you know how everything works and how much of an income you can expect to make from this, it’s time to cover the places that’ll pay you for reading emails.
There are lots of them out there. In this section, I’m going to cover the best sites. This includes websites that are well-rated by users on sites like Trustpilot and Sitejabber. Sadly, there are a lot of scam sites out there! The sites below though are legit! So, give them a try.
1. Swagbucks
First on the list we have Swagbucks. Now, this is one of the most popular and well-known rewards websites out there and with good reason. It pays pretty well for a start, and it offers plenty of ways to earn extra money. This includes reading paid emails.
To earn money reading emails with Swagbucks, make sure you check mail through your official Swagbucks dashboard. Look for the “Click and Earn” emails.
You can also earn for other tasks too, such as shopping online, browsing the internet, completing offers, watching videos, and taking surveys.
For doing these tasks, you’ll earn points, called Swag Bucks (SB) that you can redeem for a variety of different rewards.
You can redeem your points for money to your PayPal account, or for gift cards. There are gift cards available for lots of different retailers, such as Amazon and Walmart. It’s one of the best sites that pay you to do tasks that you likely already do anyway.
Use the link in the section heading to earn $5 just for signing up.
2. InboxDollars
InboxDollars is another reward website, like Swagbucks, that pays you to read emails. It also pays you for doing other tasks, such as playing games, shopping online, and taking surveys. Have your earnings sent right to your PayPal account. Read my list of InboxDollars hacks to learn how to make more money with it.
3. InboxPounds
InboxPounds is the UK version of InboxDollars. So, it’s a good option if you live in the UK and you’re looking to get paid to read emails. Aside from paid emails, InboxPounds pays you for doing other tasks, like playing online games, completing surveys, and shopping. Get paid right to your PayPal account.
4. MyPoints
Next on the list we have MyPoints. It’s another GPT site that will pay you for reading emails. You also get paid for other tasks, such as watching ads, shopping online, and taking surveys.
Payment options include money to your PayPal account, a VISA card, or a gift card for retailers like Amazon and Walmart. You can redeem gift cards for as little as $5, which is great.
What’s great about MyPoints is that just for signing up, you can get a $10 Amazon gift card, or a $10 VISA gift card.
5. QuickRewards
QuickRewards is a legit site that pays you to read emails. It also pays you for other tasks, such as playing games, completing offers, taking surveys, and shopping online. What’s great about QuickRewards is that it allows you to withdraw your earnings with as little as 1 cent in your account. This means that you aren’t having to wait for ages to cash out your earnings. Payment is sent to your PayPal account.
6. CashCrate
CashCrate is arguably the most famous of all the GPT sites, with its longstanding reputation and high rate of reward (challenged for “most famous” only by Swagbucks.) CashCrate pays by a monthly check, which will be sent in the disbursement period automatically if you have $10 in your reward account.
More Sites that Offer Paid Emails
There are some websites that pay you to do things that you already do online including reading emails, but I left them out of the list above, as they are not that well rated. They do claim to pay members to read emails, but, they aren’t as good as the websites in the section above.
So, they may not be worth your time. Of course, it’s up to you to decide on these sites. If I have written a review of any of the sites mentioned below, I will include a link to it so that you can learn more and decide whether you want to use the site.
7. Paid to Read Email
Paid to Read Email is a website that pays you for reading emails. You will receive daily paid emails in your inbox and get paid each time that you confirm reading them. You get paid to your PayPal account.
8. FusionCash
FusionCash is another option to try if you are looking to get paid to read emails. The site will pay you for reading its daily emails. You can earn money by watching video ads, taking surveys, cashback shopping, and posting on the site’s forum.
For signing up to FusionCash, you get $5. Now, in order to cash out your earnings on there, you must have $25 in your account. Now, that is a pretty high withdrawal amount compared to some of the sites on the list, like Swagbucks. You can have your payment sent to your PayPal account, by check or by direct deposit.
9. Cash4Offers
Cash4Offers pays you to read emails. The site generally sends out one or two paid emails per day to its members who’re living in the United States. The site says it makes “every effort possible” to send paid emails to members who’re outside of the U.S., but it can only guarantee regular paid emails to members living in the United States.
It also pays you for doing other tasks, such as taking surveys, completing cash offers, and referring friends. You can also get a $5 bonus just for signing up. You can have your earnings sent to your PayPal account or get an Amazon gift card.
10. InboxPays
InboxPays pays you to complete surveys and offers. You can earn additional income by reading emails. You can get paid on the 1st and 15th of every month. Payment is sent to your PayPal account.

13. Unique Rewards
I saw a lot of people mention Unique Rewards as an option. Yes, this company does offer paid email opportunities. The problem is that this company is known for not actually paying out. I wrote a Unique Rewards review, so if you want to learn more about the site and why you should avoid that, then do check it out.
14. Quick Paid Surveys
Quick Paid Surveys will pay you to read emails. It will also pay you for taking surveys. Payment is sent to your PayPal account.
Sites that Are No Longer Around Anymore
There are also a few websites that you might have heard people recommending if you are looking to get paid to read emails, but they didn’t appear on the list above. Sadly, a few paid email sites are no longer around anymore. So for anybody wondering “what happened to x”, these sites either shut down completely or have merged with another site as is the case with SendEarnings.
15. Daily Rewards: Shut Down!
Daily Rewards was a site that paid you for reading paid emails, completing surveys, and shopping. Now, when you visit the Daily Rewards website, it redirects to InboxDollars.
16. Vindale research: Shut Down!
Vindale research was a survey company. Many people recommend it as a site that pays you to read emails. However, Vindale ceased operations in November 2021.
17. FatCatRewards: Shut Down!
Alright, Aussies, this one is just for you! FatCatRewards is a site that offers GPT and PTR tasks alike, and even offers a $10 bonus, just for signing up! For our Australian readers, this is certainly a welcome change of pace!
18. SendEarnings: Merged with InboxDollars!
There isn’t too much to say about SendEarnings that hasn’t been said about the others, but for the sake of an overview: they have no explicit statements about region requirements, and they offer a nice $5 sign up bonus. And of course, they do offer PTR, which makes them at least noteworthy in the world of GPT sites.

One option is to become a blogger. Book bloggers actually get sent free books to review from authors who’re looking to get more exposure for their books.
So, you could get your hands on some free books. Not only that, but bloggers can make $100s or even $1,000s a month!
So, you could create a blog about books, and essentially get paid to read.
You will need to get traffic to your blog. Once you’ve done that, you can start earning money from your blog, which you can do through:
- Ads on your site with Google AdSense

Now, to get started, you will need to purchase a domain name and hosting. You can get those through sites like Bluehost, HostGator, and GoDaddy. Then, you can publish your blog posts through WordPress.org.

You’ll get paid through your AdSense account. You can also monetize your YouTube channel in lots of other ways too, like by creating sponsored videos.
