Although the pandemic has been a driving factor, it’s not the only reason for the trend. In developed countries, thanks to the cost of housing, education, and pretty much everything rising, and incomes not quite keeping up, fewer young people are able to build a financially stable life.

These factors have led many people to reconsider what they want from life. Many of us simply want a job that we actually like.

If you are wanting to find a job that you actually enjoy doing, you’ve come to the right place. In today’s post, I’ll cover top jobs that do not suck and aren’t boring. This includes everything from jobs where you don’t have to talk to anyone to fun careers that can reinspire your passion for work!

What is a “Good” Job?

A job that sucks for me might be perfect for you. Many people would love a job with the National Park Service because they want to work in the great outdoors. When I hear the job “park ranger,” however, bugs and bears come to mind. I enjoy working from home as a writer, and others might hate the idea of being stuck inside.

What’s an enjoyable job to one person is a nightmare for another. Still though, we can all agree that a job that we care about, where we feel we’re helping others, or where we can work in an environment that suits our personality type (introvert or extrovert) is key to job satisfaction. If we can find a job that meets our personal criteria, it will make us happy.

Perhaps you hate the commute – a work at home job would be good for you.

If you love being outdoors, then a job as a landscaper or dog walker could be your ideal.

If you love to help people a job as a physical therapist or mentor could be for you.

Basically, it’s all about what you want out of a job. Think about what you enjoy and what’s important to you and go for a job that suits you.

As a freelance writer, you can work from home without anyone bothering you. It’s the perfect job for introverts. There are deadlines though and this can be a research-intensive job so keep that in mind. If you enjoy writing, give it a try. Freelance writers create blog posts, articles, and other content for clients.

Many jobs pay per word. Pay per word can range from as little as $0.01 per word to as much as $0.10 per word or even more than that.

Want something that gets you out in nature? Then try landscaping work. It’s a physical job, but you get to enjoy being outside.

Once you have enough followers and views, you’ll become eligible for the YouTube Partner Program and will earn money from the ads that play on your videos.

12. Search engine tester

Want to get paid just for searching the internet? Well, as a search engine tester you can. This job is pretty straightforward, and you get to work from home.

Psychologists provide therapy to patients. This is an incredibly rewarding job where you get to help others. You will need a degree to get into this career, however. If you’re looking for a rewarding job, then you should definitely consider becoming a psychologist.

Web design is another career to consider. You work on the aesthetic appearance of websites focusing on things like how the content is arranged and how any design elements are implemented.

Mostly, you work on the front-end of the website, which is the part of the site that users see and interact with.

Affiliate marketing is a job that doesn’t suck if you’re looking to work from home and be your own boss. Plus, if you are somebody that doesn’t like early morning jobs, this is perfect as you get to work whenever you want.

As an affiliate marketer, you are paid for selling other people’s products. You join an affiliate program and get affiliate links for products. You can find affiliate products in pretty much every category you could think of from cosmetics to tech.

Then, you post your affiliate links online in places like:

Then, when a customer clicks on one of your affiliate links, they’re taken to the product page, as they normally would be, and when they make a purchase, you get a commission on the sale.

This is a really easy job that can pay well. Of course, you’ll need to have a good following on Instagram, YouTube, blog, or other social media platforms.

Virtual assistants can work from home making this a flexible job. Pay is pretty good as well. As a virtual assistant, you help people with tasks like making phone calls, organizing meetings, and scheduling appointments.
