Today, I am going to do a quick review of iPoll app, one of the best paid survey apps that you can use to make money with or without taking surveys!
I am a big fan of paid survey sites and using surveys to make money. So I am always on the lookout for new tools and apps that make taking surveys easier and more convenient.
It used to be that you had to sit in front of your computer to be able to fill out a survey. But nowadays, with mobile phones and tons of free money apps, you can do this from anywhere and any time.
For the last few years that I have gotten much busier with maintaining MoneyPantry, I rarely have time to take surveys at home or participate in legit focus groups that actually pay, but I still take surveys on my phone, any chance I get – in the waiting room, doctor’s office, while waiting for an oil change to be done, in line and so on.
This is all possible because of a few decent paid survey apps, one of which is the iPoll app.
But this app is not just for taking surveys, there is one other way you can use it to make extra money as well. But before we get to that, let me tell you a little about the company behind it.

The company behind the app
iPoll is the new name assumed by Surveyhead.
The original site focused on online survey panel activities, where members are encouraged to participate in surveys, in return for compensation.
Before the skeptic in you jumps up and declares the site as a scam, let’s deal with some background facts.
The fund behind this company is huge. The company that owns iPoll is uSamp.
Usamp, with its HQ in Encino, CA, is primarily in the online research panel industry. It boasts of an impressive line up of companies with a focus on online market research survey and data sampling. Consistent with its other subsidiaries, uSamp assumed full operational responsibility for iPoll.
Another impressive credential is that uSamp is listed on INC magazine’s 5000 fastest growing private companies in the states.
To date, the company has announced it has successfully canvassed well in excess of $29 million from investors.
So this should set the record straight. iPoll is certainly not a scam!
Making Money with the iPoll App
The money earning opportunities here can broadly be classified into 2 groups.
1. Doing small tasks
This is basically like those short task apps that let you make money doing local tasks.
Advertisements
For it to work, you have to activate the track location service on your phone, as this is the only way for the app to match potential opportunities with your whereabouts.
If you happen to be in the right area at the right time, the available ‘mission’ would be beeped to your phone so you can take follow up action.
These missions are very simple. For example, if it detects you near a McDonald, it may ask you a few questions about it. So, it’s sort of like surveys, but shorter and much more fun.
2. Taking Surveys
Just like other survey and rewards sites, like Swagbucks (review), you can also get paid to fill out online surveys.
You need to register first, then supply your profile before you can undertake any survey work.
The reason for the registration and submission of your personal profile is to allow effective survey matching.
Companies are looking for specific demographics when they conduct market research studies, so having your profile up to date allows the site to match you with studies that are looking for consumers like you.
When you get an invitation and decide to participate in a survey, be prepared that each survey will take 15-20 minutes roughly to complete. You are notified of possible time duration even before getting started.
The only grouse I have is with their credit system. Sometimes it will take up to one month before your compensation is finally credited into your account.
The reason for that is iPoll will do the crediting once the entire survey is wrapped up in whole (as you are not the only participant in the survey).
Cash out with iPoll
I think this site/app has a definite advantage over its peers in the industry.
They employ a dollar reward system rather than the more ubiquitous point-based system used widely in the online panel market.
Still, that does not mean you will be paid in cash. Rather, the dollar value associated with your completed surveys (or missions) is to be redeemed only with rewards listed on their websites.
It could be gift cards, magazine subscriptions, PayPal payment or donations to charities.
There is a threshold of $10 before any redemption can happen.
I would naturally think of PayPal as my next best option to cash. But in order for you to transfer your balance to PayPal, you need to have at least $50 in your account.
Installing the iPoll App
You can either directly download the app, or you can signup on the main site.
- Download the iPhone app here
- Download the Android app here
- Or sign up directly on the site here.
By the way, they are currently giving a free $5 bonus to anyone who signs up.
I do not know how long this promotion will last. So be sure to register yourself today so you can get your free 5 bucks.
It’s free to sign up anyway.
So, is iPoll Legit?
Of course, it is.
This is not a scam. It is backed by a real market research company that conducts thousands of studies every year for major companies. It is as legit as any other survey company backed by legitimate market research companies, like Opinion Outpost or MySurvey.
The bottom line is that I will not hesitate to recommend anybody to this site/app. In fact, this is among my preferred survey panels.
Before I end this review, I want to touch on one thing, and that is the fact that taking surveys for cash, whether through iPoll, or any other survey company, isn’t a get rich quick scheme.
Don’t believe the hype you see on some of these websites promising you the sun and the moon for taking their surveys. Nobody ever was able to make a living as a survey participant.
Sure, you can use these sites, and in this case, iPoll app, to make some extra pocket money, but that’s about it.
