Overall, having a baby can be a pricey affair.
That’s why it’s important to save cash wherever you can.
And, one of the best ways to do this from the outset is by creating a baby registry.
So, what is a baby registry?
If you don’t already know, a baby registry is a service offered by a retailer that allows you to compile a list or registry of things that you need for your new arrival, like bottles, baby shampoo, diaper bags, cribs, and strollers.
Then, you and others can purchase the items in the registry.
A lot of retailers offer this service, like Amazon and Target.
So, you’re probably wondering which one you should go with. Well, one that you should definitely consider is Walmart.
Its prices are low.
It offers a wide range of products.

How to register for Walmart Baby Registry
Creating a baby registry with Walmart is a really quick and easy process.
And it only requires a few simple details to do set up.
Walmart allows you to set up your registry through its app, or its website.
Here’s how to register for each:
Registering on Walmart.com
It’s pretty easy to set up a baby Registry at Walmart.
- Visit this page, and then click on the “create a registry” option to get started.
- At this point, you’ll be asked to login to your Walmart account. So, if you don’t already have an account, then you’ll need to create one.
- Once you’ve done that, you’ll be asked to enter some information, like your name, address and your baby’s due date.
- Then, select “Create Registry”.
- If you want to share it with your friends and family, then you can do so through email or Facebook. All you need to do is click the “Share” button at the top of the page.
Registering with the app
The Walmart website is super simple to use, but the app is also great, especially if you want to manage your baby registry from your phone.
Here’s how the registry works with the app and how to set it up.
- Download and install the Walmart app (iOS – Android), if you haven’t already got it.
- Next, on the main menu, tap the “Gift Registry” option.
- Select “Create Baby Registry”.
- Enter the required information. This is quick, and you only need to enter basic details, like your name and the baby’s due date.
- Select “Create Registry” and then you can start registering for gifts.
How does it work?
Once you’ve created your registry, you can add items to it from either the Walmart app or the Walmart.com registry page.
You can also remove items and view which products from the registry have been purchased.
What’s great about the Walmart app is that you can use it to register for products in-store.
You can pick up any product that you’re interested in, scan the item’s UPC barcode and it will go onto your registry.
You can also browse items through the app by category.
Plus, family members and friends who purchase items can scan their receipt and it will update the registry – so you won’t get any duplicate gifts!
Walmart Baby Registry benefits
Okay, so now you know how to sign up and how it works, so you’re probably wondering why you should consider creating a baby registry at Walmart.
Well, there are a number of benefits to doing so.
When you choose to create a registry with Walmart, it offers you quite a few perks, including free returns and free stuff.
Here are the benefits of creating your registry with Walmart:
1. It helps you to create your registry
What’s unique about Walmart that sets it apart from the Amazon Baby Registry and the Target Baby Registry, is that it offers a lot of articles that help you to decide what you want to add to your registry.
So, if you’re a first-time parent, then this is particularly useful.
You can find these articles by visiting this page, and then scrolling down to the “Baby Registry Tips” section.
Also, Walmart also offers a registry checklist that covers essential items that you might want to add to your registry.
This is another feature that’s really useful for first-time parents or even parents that already have children, but can’t decide what items to register for.
2. Gift Bag (A Welcome Box)
One of the best things about setting up a baby registry is the free stuff!
As a new parent, you want to save as much as you can, so any time that you can get something for free, it’s certainly a bonus.
Walmart gives customers who set up a baby registry with them a free Welcome Box, containing free samples (free baby formula, diapers, toys, etc).
The only problem is, this Welcome Box isn’t always available. Sometimes, like at the time of writing, it goes out of stock.
But, when it is in stock, it’s a great freebie.
3. A price guarantee
One of the best things about Walmart is that it has a price match guarantee in place.
So, if you find an item from an online competitor, and it’s cheaper, or if an item that you bought on Walmart.com is now listed at a lower price, then Walmart will match it for you.
This means that you can ensure that, you get the best price for everything.

4. The option to shop online and offline
Sure, shopping from the comfort of your own home is great, but some people simply prefer to shop offline, in a traditional store.
Conveniently enough, the company allows you manage and update your registry online from a desktop PC and also in-store, using the Walmart app.
With the Walmart app, you can pick up a product you want to add to the registry, and then scan the barcode and it will go onto your registry.
Plus, Walmart allows you to scan your receipt once you’ve purchased an item and it will update your registry.
5. Convenient locations
No matter where you or your friends and family live, there’s sure to be a Walmart store nearby.
So, if other people want to purchase stuff from your registry, or you enjoy shopping offline, then it’s easy enough to find a store.
6. Free returns
Sometimes, you get an item and it just doesn’t meet your expectations.
Returning stuff can be costly!
Fortunately, Walmart allows you to return stuff for free. In fact, the company always offers free returns on everything.
Closing thoughts
Having a baby is a really exciting thing.
But, you’ll need to make sure that you have everything you need, from the stroller to the crib and that you’re stocked up on everyday essentials, like burp cloths, and diapers.
That’s why it’s such a good idea to set up a baby registry.
A baby registry helps you to stay organized and ensures that you have everything you need when the baby arrives.
And, Walmart is definitely a store that you should consider registering with.
It’s easy to set up a registry, you get access to a wide range of products and you also get freebies, free shipping and a number of other benefits.

I’ve been shopping around and found that Walmart had a lot of my needs

I open my baby registry in walmart.com because Kobe 19 I thought was a good idea but now that I want to return a few items because it’s walmart.com they don’t take it back at the store and I have to deal with the seller Walmart doesn’t take any responsibility. And when I spoke with the seller they want to give the money back to the person who bought the present and this is so unacceptable for my first child I did it in Target and have no issue with returning And I was able to use the money for diapers etc. I am so unhappy with Walmart customer service I will never ever recommend walmart.com for anything.
