In today’s PointsPrizes review, I’ll tell you everything you need to know about making money with the site, and whether it’s worth your time.
There are so many ways to make money online. One way that’s pretty popular is with rewards websites. There are lots of them out there, like Swagbucks. They’ll pay you for doing really easy tasks.
One site that I’ve seen people ask about online is PointsPrizes where you can earn rewards online.
But, is the site legit and can you really use it to get free cash and gift cards?

- Download PointsPrizes for iOS devices here.
How it Works
PointsPrizes will give you points when you complete a variety of tasks.
You can then redeem your points for gift cards.
Pretty much anyone regardless of what country they’re from can sign up for the site, as long as they are able to redeem one of the payment options.
Here’s a more detailed overview of how you can earn money with the site.
Earn Points
Here’s how you can earn points:
Taking surveys
You get access to survey routers. So you can get paid to do a wide range of surveys. I noticed that the amount of surveys on offer seems to vary depending on what country you’re from. For example, members in the USA tend to get access to more surveys than users from other places.
Completing offers
Get paid for learning about free products and services from advertisers. Offers can include downloading an app, registering for a website, signing up for a newsletter or signing up for a free trial.
Each offer comes with instructions on what you need to do to complete it.
Advertisements
New users can earn offer bonus points when they try to complete an offer, but it’s unsuccessful.
Watching video ads
The site’s advertisers will also pay you to watch their videos. You can earn ad view points when you watch daily video ads through the app. There’s a daily limit on the number of points you can earn from watching videos, which increases based on your performance with offers and referrals. If you get more referral points, you can unlock more ad view points per day.
Finding coupon codes
The site gives coupons to social media influencers and websites to help them to promote their referral links. You can use these coupons to earn extra free bonus points.
You can get coupons by searching social media, searching Google, or by asking other users to share them with you.
There’s a limit of 500 points that you can earn with Coupon Bonus Points.
Playing games
Yes, you can also play games and get paid for it. You can play free HTML games to earn more points. You get 1 point per game level you complete, and you can earn a maximum of 750 points with these games.
Answering Daily polls
The site offers a daily poll that allows you to earn 5 points per day. Just share your opinion on a wide range of topics. There are no limits on poll points.
Referring friends
The site has a referral program that can earn you extra points. You earn points by sharing your referral link on social media, websites, and other online community platforms.
To create your first referral links, visit the Referral Links Tab inside your account.
There are two types of referral points you can earn:
- Referral Bonus Points: You can earn between 1 and 10 points for every valid account that signs up to PointsPrizes through your referral links. These points are unlimited, and this is the main way that users earn referral points.
- Referral Points: You can earn the equivalent of 10% from any points earned by users you referred. So if a user you referred earned 3,000 points, you’ll earn 300 referral points.
Redeem Your Points
Once you’ve earned $20, you can withdraw your earnings.
Now, PointsPrizes has a pretty confusing points system.
150 points is worth almost a $1 – $0.99 to be precise. So each point is worth about $0.0066.
But that’s not always the case. The exact value of points can vary depending on the reward you choose.
So, like I said, it’s a little confusing to know how much the points are worth.
Basically, you’ll need 3,000 points to redeem $20, which is quite a lot of points.
How does points prizes pay?
Points Prizes pays you through:
- PayPal
- Bitcoin
- Gift cards
It has lots of different gift cards available for stores and brands, like:
- PlayStation
- Steam
- Google Play
- Minecraft
- Robux
- Fortnite
- iTunes
- Amazon
- Xbox
- Clash of Clans
- Nintendo eShop
- Star Stable
- PlayStation Plus
- Netflix
- Apple
- IMVU
Direct payment methods, which are PayPal and Bitcoin, are sent within 15 to 30 days of a claim being made.
It says that money is paid to PayPal faster than Bitcoin, because of a lower risk of fraud.
It says that payments for affiliates who earn a high number of referral points are accelerated and are usually sent within 1 to 2 days.
Is PointsPrizes Legit?
Okay, so now you know how the site works, you’re probably wondering, is it legit?
Well, I have a few issues with the site, which I’ll discuss below. Before that, let’s take a look at what the site’s users have to say about PointsPrizes and how they rate it.
Here’s how the site’s rated on a few different platforms:
- Trustpilot: It has more than 1,000 reviews and 4.5 stars, which is an “Excellent” rating.
- Google Play Store: It has just over 4 stars and more than 3,500 reviews.
- iOS store: It has 43 ratings and just 2.6 stars.
Now, those numbers seem okay, right?
But, when I had a dig through the reviews, there were a few common complaints about the site.
Let’s take a look at the good and the bad.
The Good
There were many positive reviews of the site on Reddit and other online forums.
Here are a few examples of what the good reviews had to say:
- “Its a great app to work on.. Easy surveys, Promo codes and also a great way to refer your friends and earn money … Overall superb combination of earning variois gift cards… I think they are purely deserving 5 stars.”
- “Best app to earn money! Playing the quiz is easy! You can easily get points!”
- “Awesome app.I love this app.”
The Bad
Most of the negative reviews complained that they weren’t receiving any points.
Now I did notice that with PointsPrizes, there are a lot of limits on points for certain activities. For example, you can earn a maximum of 750 points playing games.
So I think this is probably what most users are having trouble with.
Here are a few examples of the negative reviews of PointsPrizes:
- “i m not receiving points on surveys why this is happening? please tell me the reason”
- “When I did the survey they said I got points but when I went to go see my point status I have no points”
- “Scam app…. Only time waste”
- “Fake and Useless.”
- “so far have got to do 1 survey, don’t seem to qualify for any. haven’t gotten any points for some of the other things I have done. so far not good. Does anyone read these reviews?????”
- “Scam, i did a survey for 1,000 points and it only gave me 2 those good reviews are FAKE”
Is PointsPrizes Worth It?
To be honest with you, I think your time is better spent on Swagbucks and other rewards websites.
Now, I’m not saying that PointsPrizes isn’t worth your time at all.
It’s just there are a few issues with it:
Other sites may be better long-term
PointsPrizes definitely benefits new users. So it’s not a site to make money with long term.
You see, PointsPrizes offers points and “bonus points”. These bonus points are geared towards new users.
When you first sign up to the site, you’ll earn points for doing everything!
Once you accumulate more points though, you’ll reach the limit for many activities and you’ll be unable to earn any more points for certain ones.
Obviously, this isn’t ideal.
My advice would be to sign up for the site and take advantage of these bonus points offered to new users.
Then max out your points on the different activities, like playing games, using coupon codes, and playing videos, and then log in whenever to get your points up to 3,000.
After that though, other sites are a better use of your time.
The site’s payout rate is high
Since you don’t get that many points per task, and you need 150 points before you even earn a $1, getting to that $20 payment threshold can be a real slog, especially when you’ve maxed out your bonus points.
These Redditors discuss their trouble accumulating points later on, so have a read of that thread to learn more.
It can take 7 to 30 days to get your cash!
If you choose to get paid to your PayPal account or through Bitcoin, you could be waiting 15 to 30 days to get your payment. This isn’t ideal. Gift cards take 7 days to deliver too. Again, that’s pretty slow!
Closing Thoughts
Overall, PointsPrizes is okay for earning at the start, but after that trying to get enough points to cash out can be tough. The fact that many users complain about not actually getting their points is also a concern.
Here are a few alternatives to PointsPrizes to consider:
Hopefully this PointsPrizes review helped you to decide whether or not the site is for you.
