I tested the Pie Adblock browser extension along with the optional Pie Shopping extension to see how it actually works.

The first step is to sign up and get the extension.

Now, you don’t have to sign up to use Pie Adblock, you can just install it from the Chrome Web Store to start blocking ads.

But if you want to earn rewards for seeing select ads and for shopping, you’ll need to create a free account with your email or Google account.

You can click on the “Sign up” button on the homepage on the official website here and it will take you to a sign-up form.

After signing up, you’ll choose your adblock mode and decide whether to enable Rewards for Ads to earn cash.

You can also skip adding the Pie Shopping extension if you want, it’s optional and mainly helps with cashback and coupons. But if you do any shopping online, I’d install that as well. It can save you a lot of money.

To install Pie Adblock, go to the official homepage and click “Add to Chrome – It’s Free.”

This will direct you to the Chrome Store where you can install the app. Just click “Add to Chrome,” and it will download the app for you. This didn’t take long for me at all.

You’ll be directed to a page where you can choose the mode you want Adblock to use.

Just select the one you want.

You’ll then need to choose whether or not you want to earn for ads.

This is one of the main ways to earn with the platform, so be sure to select “Continue” if you’re looking to earn money for ads. If not, then you have the option to click “No thanks.”

Next, I was asked whether I wanted to add the Pie Shopping extension. So, I clicked “Add Pie Shopping.” You also have to option to skip this step by clicking “No Thanks.”

Once you have downloaded the extension, you’ll be prompted to create an account if you haven’t already.

I entered my email address and the site sent me a confirmation code. This sent fast. I entered it on the site and was all signed up.

Overall, it was a straightforward process.

The primary feature is its ad blocker, which worked very well in my test.

So, the first thing I noticed when I started browsing with this extension installed was that, well, there were no ads.

I went on various sites, blogs, and platforms like YouTube, and there were no ads.

I clicked on quite a few YouTube videos and none of them featured any ads.

Now, what I like about the extension is that it does enable you to allow ads for all or any channels you subscribe to on YouTube or Twitch. So, you can support creators on there.

And it allows you to allow ads on any site you want to, meaning that you can support any site you want to.

Creators on sites like YouTube and Twitch and website/blog owners are putting out content for free and ads are a big part of their livelihood. So, taking those away can actually impact people’s income. So, I really like that Pie gives you the choice to support the sites and social media channels that you want to.

This is the main “get paid to browse” feature.

If you enabled this during setup, Pie will occasionally show you a limited number of its own “Fair Ads” from partner websites.
