While there are many apps and sites that pay you to play games, or at least they claim to pay you, not all are legit.
Is Money Well legit though, or should you give it a miss?
In today’s post, I’ll cover how the app works, and whether or not it’s worth your time.
What will I learn?
What is Money Well?
Money Well is an app that pays you for downloading mobile games and playing them. It’s similar to Mistplay.
Money Well is owned by justDice, which has several other popular paid gaming apps, such as AppStation, Coin Pop, Lucky Miner, and Money RAWR.

How Does Money Well Work?
Here’s how the Money Well app works:
Step One: Get the app
The first step is to get the app. Money Well is only available for Android devices.
So, if you have an iPhone, then you’ll need to give this one a miss. I’d recommend that iPhone users check out my list of iPhone apps that pay you to play games if you want some alternatives to Money Well.
You can get the Money Well app here. It is free to download and use, and no in-app purchases and no-deposit is required.
Step Two: Play games
Open up the app and select a game from the offer wall. There are lots of different types of games to choose from, such as:
- Arcade
- Adventure
- Casual
- Strategic games
According to Money Well, new games will appear regularly in the app, and give you the opportunity to discover something new every day.
Once you start playing, the app tracks your time. The more games you play, the more money you will make. You can check your score at any time on Money Well to see your progress.
Step Three: Get paid
For playing games, you will earn tickets, which you can redeem for PayPal cash and gift cards.
To get a gift card, you will need to collect a certain amount of tickets, depending on the brand.
Advertisements
You can redeem gift cards as soon as you have reached enough tickets.
You can cash out to PayPal and get your money in less than two days.
How Much Does Money Well Pay?
How much money you earn depends on how much time you spend playing games, and your country.
You can earn 40 to 50 tickets per minute when you first start playing, but I’ve also seen reports of games that pay 100 to 150 tickets per minute
However, games pay fewer tickets over time. The rate will only go down the longer you keep playing a game. So, playing a game for longer, means you’ll earn less.
You need 19,000 tickets to withdraw just $1 to PayPal.
So, let’s say you earn 50 tickets per minute. That means you will only be earning around $0.002 per minute you play a game. Like I said, the rate only drops over time, so to earn just a $1, you will likely have to spend hours playing new games.
How Do You Get Paid?
You can cash out your earnings for money to your PayPal account or get a gift card.
Gift card options include:
- Amazon
- Steam
- Nintendo
- Google Play store
- iTunes
- Best Buy
- Nintendo
- PlayStation
- H&M
- Zalando
- Steam
Gift card options vary depending on your location.
Is Money Well Legit?
Money Well is a legit app with more than 10 million downloads and a 4.3-star rating on the Google Play store. The app is owned by justDice, which is part of Applike Group. Applike Group is a legit company with headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
There are lots of positive reviews on the Google Play store where users praise Money Well for giving them an easy way to make some extra money.
However, I did see some complaints. A common complaint that users had about Money Well is that it didn’t track their played minutes.
In a review on the Google Play store, one user says:
- “It’s a great way to earn extra cash…when it works. There are a LOT of times I’ll be playing for quite a while and then the app doesn’t register my played minutes, so I lose out on all the possible tickets earned. It’s REALLY frustrating. I always open the games through the app, but whether it registers the playing g time is hit or miss. It’s too bad bc this is one of the faster earning apps, but it just isn’t reliable.”
Another complaint was that Money Well takes too long to verify their accounts, and that they couldn’t cash out without this verification.
Money Well Pros and Cons
Here are some pros and cons of Money Well, so you can decide whether or not the app is for you.
Pros
Here are the pros of Money Well:
- PayPal payments are available.
- Lots of gift card options on offer.
- Offers a fun way to earn money, as many people enjoy playing games on their phones anyway.
- Well-rated on the Google Play store.
- There are no ads.
Cons
Here are the cons of Money Well:
- Many users report that their minutes playing are not tracked, which impacts their earnings.
- You need a lot of tickets to cash out your earnings.
- The number of tickets you earn decreases the more you play a game.
- Many users report issues with verifying their account, which is required to cash out earnings.
Overall Verdict
While Money Well is a legit app that offers you a fun way to make money. Although the earning potential is pretty low.
When you first start playing a game, earning tickets is pretty easy, but the earning rate slows as you play it. So, you’d have to spend hours playing to earn even a few dollars.
Although the payout threshold seems low, you will need to invest a lot of time just to reach it, which makes the low payout threshold irrelevant.
If you enjoy playing games and just want a fun way to earn a little extra money while doing so, then give Money Well a try. It is a legit app and there are no ads, which is great.
If your goal is to find an app with great earning potential though, Money Well isn’t your best option. There are apps like Mistplay and Swagbucks that pay better.
