Staying at a Hotel? Trivago Wants to Pay You!

Advertisements

Trivago hotel quality test program.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could get paid to travel and stay in a hotel?

But that’s just for those in the travel industry, isn’t it?

No, not really. Anybody can get paid for staying in a hotel, thanks to a program from Trivago.com.

Trivago.com is a website where you can search for the best hotel deals. It has a program known as the Trivago Quality Test, where you are paid for reviewing the hotel you book through their site.

At present, the number of available destinations is limited, and you’re restricted to testing one hotel per month. However, if it fits into your travel plans, it’s well worth it.

How It Works

This is almost like mystery shopping—hotel mystery shopping, if you will.

Here’s how it works:

1. Choose Your Destination

First, you choose a destination from a list of available destinations. Visit Trivago.com/QualityTest to make your selection.

Update: It seems like Trivago has ended the test program. I can’t find any information about the program on their website anymore.

2. Sign Up as a Tester

Once you’ve chosen your destination, sign up as a hotel tester for a specific hotel in that area.

3. Book Your Hotel

Next, book your hotel stay from the list of available booking sites.

Before you go, you’ll receive a questionnaire, which will take about 10 minutes to complete.

4. Test the Hotel

After your stay, you’ll fill out another, more detailed questionnaire. This one will take around 45 minutes to complete.

5. Get Paid

Once you’ve completed the test, you’ll be paid directly via bank transfer or PayPal.

What’s awesome about booking your hotel through Trivago is that it shows you all the prices from various booking sites, allowing you to find and choose the lowest one in just a few seconds instead of spending hours checking sites one by one. And to top it off, you also get paid for your stay!

How Much Does Trivago Pay Their Hotel Testers?

First, you need to pay for the hotel room yourself—Trivago doesn’t “comp” any stays. However, if you’re willing to visit one of the hotels on their current list (which changes frequently), you can get paid for providing a detailed review.

As for the exact amount, based on my research, you can earn up to $120. This isn’t bad considering that the two questionnaires you need to complete will take less than an hour of your time.

It’s important to note that no matter how many nights you stay, you’ll only be paid once for your review. This means the program is most beneficial if you’re planning a one-night stay, as it gives you the largest effective discount on your room.

Limitations

There are a few restrictions to keep in mind:

  • You’re allowed to report on only one hotel per month, and you cannot review the same hotel again for another year.
  • If you’re traveling as a couple or a family, only one person can act as a tester and receive payment.
  • You’re paid only once for your booking, regardless of the number of nights you stay.

If you’re feeling creative, here’s a workaround: If you’re traveling as a couple, one person could book the first night and fill out the tester forms, while the other person books the second night as a tester and completes their own forms. This way, you can both earn payment!

Additionally, if your destination isn’t currently on Trivago’s list of available locations, make sure to sign up for their newsletter to receive updates when new destinations are added.

Summary

Whether you’re a frequent traveler or just planning a holiday trip, Trivago’s program offers a way to offset your travel costs.

Whenever you’re planning a trip, it’s worth checking to see if there are any hotels available for testing. For less than an hour’s work, you could receive a significant discount on your stay—often better than any promotional price you can find.

I am looking to review hotels in my area, Tn, and surrounding states. I have had to travel to many places and stayed in some really good hotels and some that are suppose to be good and we’re not. I would like to stay at some and review them and get paid. Travelers need these reviews! Thanks
