How Does Fluz Work?
If you’ve used cashback websites or apps before, you might be familiar with two common models:
- You visit the site, click on the merchant you want to shop with, are redirected to that store’s website to make a purchase, and then receive cashback. Examples of sites using this model include Rakuten, Rebates, and TopCashback.
- You upload a photo of your receipt as proof of purchase and receive cashback. Sites using this model include Ibotta, Checkout51, and ReceiptPal.
Some sites offer a mix of the two models.
Fluz doesn’t follow either of these cashback models. Instead, you purchase a gift card from Fluz, use it to pay for your purchase, and instantly receive cashback.
Here’s an example:
Suppose you’ve added items to your cart on Amazon. Instead of using your regular payment method, like a credit card, you go to Fluz and buy a gift card for the exact amount of your purchase. You then use the gift card code from Fluz to pay for your items on Amazon. Fluz credits you with cashback.
Step-by-Step Guide for Using Fluz
Here’s a quick guide on how to use the Fluz app:
Step 1: Sign up and add a payment method
You can sign up for the app for free. After signing up, you’ll need to add a payment method.
Fluz accepts the following payment methods:
Advertisements
- Bank cards (credit or debit).
- ACH transfer/bank payment.
- Fluz rewards balance.
- PayPal and Apple Pay.
Step 2: Choose a retailer
Browse through the site’s stores to ensure you can get cashback at the store where you want to shop. You can view a list of stores here.
Step 3: Shop
Shop directly at the store just like you normally would. Whether you’re shopping online or in-store, proceed as you usually do.
Step 4: Get a gift card from Fluz
Next, purchase a gift card from the Fluz app. Enter the exact amount of your purchase (including tax) into the app. Fluz will charge the payment method you added and provide you with a gift card code, a PIN, or a QR code.
Step 5: Use the gift card
Once you have your gift card, use it at the retailer to pay for your purchase. Enter the gift card code online or show the cashier the QR code on your phone if you’re shopping in-store.
Step 6: Earn cashback
The cashback you earn from each purchase is instantly credited to your Fluz account. Note that there is a $15 minimum for your first withdrawal.
Step 7: Get paid!
You can transfer your cashback to your bank, PayPal account, Venmo account, or virtual debit card.
The 1-Time Card Feature
Fluz is also introducing a 1-time card option. If the merchant you’re shopping at isn’t listed in the app, you can generate a 1-time card to use anywhere MasterCard is accepted and earn 1.5% cashback instantly.
Please note that 1-time cards are not yet available to all users. They must be used within 24 hours of purchase; otherwise, they will expire, and a new one won’t be automatically generated.
Referrals
You can refer friends and receive a $5 bonus for each referral. Additionally, you’ll earn royalties on their cashback for life. Build a network and earn from others’ purchases.
When someone in your network makes a purchase, everyone in the network shares the cashback.
When someone in your network makes a purchase at a standard gift card retailer, everyone in the network shares a total of 1.5% cashback (0.03% per person) from that purchase.
When someone in your network shops at an exempt gift card retailer or uses a 1-time card, everyone in the network shares a total of 0.25% cashback (0.05% per person) from that purchase.
If you build a large network, this can become a good passive income stream.

The cashback rate varies depending on the merchant. The percentage you earn will be shown next to the offer.

The highest cashback rate is available with ACH payment, followed by debit card, credit card, and digital wallets (PayPal and Apple Pay).

- 1% with a credit card payment (-3%), which is $2.
- 1% with PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay (-3%), which is $2.
You can get 1.5% cashback with a 1-time card.
Is Fluz Legit?
Fluz is a legitimate app for earning cashback at well-known retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Nike. Many users report successfully receiving cashback through the platform.
Here’s how Fluz is rated on a few different platforms:
- Trustpilot: 4.5 stars, rated “Excellent.”
- Better Business Bureau (BBB): F rating, 1.13 stars from customers.
- Google Play Store: 2 stars.
- The App Store: 3.7 stars.
Reviews of the app vary significantly. It’s rated quite highly on some platforms, such as Trustpilot, but not so well on others, like the BBB and Google Play Store.
Many users praise the app.
One user on Trustpilot says:
- “I love Fluz. It’s such an innovative app for earning cashback on shopping. With so many retailer gift cards available, it’s easy to plan my shopping to always use a gift card for payment. I love that I can purchase the exact amount needed for my purchases and stack Fluz with other reward programs to earn even more. Since using the app, I’ve earned over $450 in cashback and referral money.”
One user on the Google Play Store says:
- “I love this app. I’ve cashed out $113 earned just by buying what I already purchase, but through Fluz.”
There were also some negative reviews of the app.
One user on the Google Play Store says:
- “The app is very slow and glitchy, full of bugs. It double charged me for an eBay card and duplicated the purchase. The refund process is very slow; I have not yet received my refund several days later for an issue caused by the app.”
One user on the App Store says:
- “Nothing but problems… I’ve had this app for a week, and literally every day there is another issue. First, the app was freezing, so I had to uninstall and reinstall it. Then, it struggled to connect to my bank (a well-known American bank) and required support for that. Even after verification, it continued to have problems connecting to my account. Now, the online store isn’t accepting the gift card the app created for me. I’m emailing tech support every single day and still can’t use the app successfully a week later. Tech support sends generic responses that make it clear they didn’t actually read my issue.”
Overall Verdict
Overall, Fluz is a legitimate app for earning cashback at a variety of retailers, brands, and restaurants. Users can also stack cashback from Fluz with other cashback sites and savings, like coupons and promo codes.
The requirement to purchase a gift card before earning cashback adds a bit of extra work, but this is similar to other cashback platforms that require receipt uploads, such as Ibotta or Checkout51.
While some users encounter issues with the app glitching, many have successfully earned cashback with Fluz.
