After much research, finding apps that DID NOT use Ingo Money was actually pretty tough! I’ll be honest here! Many digital banking and check cashing apps use Ingo’s technology in their own programs. Lots of them, like PayPal, Venmo, and Green Dot do indeed partner with Ingo. That means that a lot of the popular check cashing options are off the table.
Thankfully, there are still some apps out there that don’t use Ingo.
But, which are they?
Short answer: Check cashing apps that don’t use Ingo include The Check Cashing Store, the Wells Fargo app, AnytimeCheck, and the Chase app.

The first $225 of your total daily deposits is usually available right away. The rest of your deposit amount will typically be available the next business day if your deposit was made before 9 p.m. Central Time.
Individual deposits that are above a certain dollar amount may take up to 5 business days to become available. If extra processing time is required, US Bank will tell you before you confirm your deposit when the funds will be available.
US Bank does not charge fees for check cashing.
Here’s where you can get the app:
3. The Check Cashing Store
With the Check Cashing Store Mobile app, you can deposit your checks directly to your bank account or your Momentum Prepaid MasterCard or to any of your personal Visa, MasterCard, Discover or prepaid debit cards. All you need to do is take a photo of your check in the app and follow the prompts to submit it.

AnytimeCheck is a combined check writing/check-depositing service that is designed for people to send and receive checks on a subscription basis. With it, subscribers can cash or write checks on mobile, web, or the phone.
You can deposit checks to any linked U.S. bank account. Fees at AnytimeCheck are package-based, rather than being charged by individual check. So, prices range from about $20 to receive or send 10 checks up to about $100 to receive or send 75 checks. You can also purchase combination send-and-receive packages at a lower per-check price.

Your Local Bank’s Mobile App
A lot of apps use some or all of Ingo’s technology. Like I said above, there are options like AnytimeCheck and The Check Cashing Store, which don’t use Ingo. One of the best options though is to check out your bank’s mobile app.
Most banks have a mobile app that allows account holders to deposit checks, usually for free. I mentioned a few banks that do this on the list above, including Wells Fargo and US Bank. Even if your bank doesn’t appear on the list above, it may still provide mobile check deposits.
So, I would highly recommend that you check to see if your bank has a mobile app and if it offers check cashing. If it does, look at the app’s details to find out if it uses Ingo Money technology, or call up your bank to ask if it uses Ingo for its mobile check cashing.
What’s great about using your bank’s mobile app is that you will likely find the lowest fees. Much lower than Ingo. In fact, many banks allow customers to deposit checks for free!

Closing Thoughts
Finding check cashing apps that don’t use Ingo can be tough. Apps like ACE Mobile Loads and Brink’s Prepaid use some or all of Ingo’s technology. This means that a lot of the popular check cashing apps are off the table if you want a platform that doesn’t use Ingo.
There are still a few check cashing apps that don’t use Ingo though, like the Wells Fargo app, the Chime App, The Check Cashing Store, and AnytimeCheck.
These apps allow you to cash checks right from your phone.
Cashing a check using an app is great because it means that you don’t have to head down to your bank, which can often be an inconvenience since many banks are shut by the time work is finished.
Instead, you can simply snap a photo, follow a few prompts, and have your check cashed right from your phone.
Of course, the downside to mobile check deposits is that you’re not “cashing” the check per se. You’re instead depositing it into your bank account.
So, if you are looking for cash that you can hold in your hand right now, then you will need to head into your local bank or check cashing stores like these gas stations that cash checks.
If you don’t need actual cash though, and instead just want the funds deposited into your bank account, then mobile check cashing apps are great.
While many check cashing apps use some of all of Ingo’s technology, others don’t. Sometimes the apps that don’t use Ingo have lower fees, and some even offer free check deposits, which is great!
