Xoom is a service from PayPal that allows you to send money abroad. It touts itself as the safest way to send money internationally.

Wise offers online money transfers from the United States. It used to be called TransferWise.

- Countries covered: More than 100.
- Fees: You pay a small, flat fee plus a fixed percentage of the transfer amount. Some payment methods also have an added fee, but that’s normally small as well. The exchange rate doesn’t have a markup either. You can always view the total cost upfront.
- Speed: Up to 2 working days, but it’s rare that it takes that long, according to the site.

OFX offers a couple of different ways to transfer money to suit individuals and businesses. The company accepts wire transfers from your bank account, or you can apply to set up an ACH direct debit. It does not accept cash, credit card, checks, or bank drafts.

- Rating: It has a 4.3-star rating from Trustpilot (which is a rating of “Excellent”) where it has more than 10,400 reviews. And it has 4.5 stars on the Google Play Store where it has more than 44,000 reviews.
- Countries covered: More than 190.
- Fees: Can be free, but it depends on factors like the country you’re sending money to and the payment method you use to send the money. There’s a fee estimator form on the homepage that you can use to get a quote.
- Speed: If you’re sending money to a bank account, it can arrive in as little as an hour, but it can take up until the next day. If you schedule money for pickup, money is usually ready for cash pickup within minutes after the transfer has been sent successfully.

One of the original options for sending money abroad, Western Union is still one of the best and cheapest ways to send money overseas. Whether you want to get a Money Order or Wire money directly, WU is a great option.

Remitly offers a few different options for sending money, including bank deposit, cash pickup, mobile money, and home delivery.
- Rating: Remitly has 4.5 stars on Trustpilot (which is an “Excellent” rating) where it has more than 32,000 reviews. It has almost 5-stars on the Google Play store where it has more than 137,000 reviews.
- Countries covered: Remitly supports money transfers from 17 sending countries to 100 receiving countries around the world.
- Fees: Transfer fees can vary based on how much money you send, and the delivery speed you choose. For example, Express will deliver money faster for a higher fee and Economy offers lower fees, but a slightly longer delivery window.
