Where do you get cheap picture frames?
I haven’t had to grapple with that question until last year.
Last year, I was on the hunt for some nice picture frames to hang pictures and wall art. When I started shopping though, I was shocked by how expensive some of them can be.
$40 for a frame?
No thanks!

Where to Buy Cheap Picture Frames Near Me
Here’s where you can pick up quality picture frames at affordable prices near you.
1. Local thrift stores
Local thrift stores often sell framed artwork for cheap. Even if you don’t like the artwork, buy it anyway just for the frame. This can save you so much cash.
You can get some beautiful looking frames for a low cost. Thrift stores are a particularly good option if you like more antique or traditional-style frames.
Pro tip: Go to thrift stores like Goodwill or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in affluent areas of your city. You’ll find a lot of quality and expensive frames for a few dollars that would cost you an arm and a leg if you were to buy them at a regular retailer.
2. Estate sales
Another option to try if you want to get some picture frames at an affordable price is estate sales. You can get some great bargains.
3. Garage sales
People often get rid of photo frames or old artwork at garage sales. That’s why they can be a good place to pick up some frames at a low cost. You can find them for less than $1 in some cases!
4. Flea markets
Just like garage sales, flea markets often have a selection of cheap frames to choose from. So, head on out to your local flea market and see what bargains you can find.
5. University Surplus Stores
When universities have surplus stores they sell off items they no longer need for cheap, including furniture and home decor. If you’re in or near a university town, these stores can be great for finding unique and affordable picture frames.

Where to Buy Cheap Picture Frames Online
If you would rather shop online, these are all great places to find affordable frames that are also of high quality. You’d probably have a lot more options as well since you can quickly browse dozens of sites.
This also gives you the option to check out a physical store’s website (like Target), as stores usually have more selections online than at any of their individual brick-and-mortar locations.
7. Amazon
I wanted some photo frames for the first ultrasound I had for my daughter, and I found Amazon to be the best option. It had a nice selection of frames that were stylish, and great quality, but cheap.
I managed to get a frame for just $7.99. Many other places were charging like $20 for similar items. Amazon is great for bargains. And if you have Prime too, then shipping is free.
8. Target
Target has always had that great mix of quality and affordability across all of its merchandise and picture frames are no different.
Pick up photo frames in various sizes at one of the 1,956 Target stores across the country or online. Save money with the Target RedCard too.
9. Wayfair
I’ll level with you here. Not everything on Wayfair is cheap. They’ve got some pretty expensive brands on there. Avoid those and you can find some great bargains.
Wayfair has a selection of reasonably priced photo frames. And, the site often runs deals that can save you lots of cash.
10. Ikea
Honestly, for affordable home décor stuff in general, Ikea should be your go-to. Everything in there is reasonably priced. If you like your décor modern, it’s a particularly good choice.

There you can find some excellent deals. Just like with thrift stores, you may be able to find some cheap framed artwork at HomeGoods, and even if you don’t like the artwork, you can still buy it just for the frame.
