How to Send Money from PayPal to Cash App
Use one or more of these methods to send money from your PayPal account to a Cash App account.
1. Transfer funds by linking PayPal to your Cash App Cash Card
You can use your Cash App Cash Card to retrieve funds from PayPal. (If you haven’t ordered one already, follow the Order Instructions to obtain the card. Expect it to arrive within 10 business days.)
With your Cash Card info at hand, go to the PayPal website, sign into your account, and click on “Wallet.”
Next, press “Link a card or bank,” click on “Link a debit or credit card,” and select “Debit or credit card” under “Link a card manually.”
Enter the Cash Card credentials. Now, you can send money to your card when needed.
2. Use a linked bank account
If you have a checking or savings account connected to your PayPal, consider transferring money from there to your Cash App.
How?
Once signed into your PayPal account, click on “Transfer” and then “Transfer to your bank.”

You have two choices: transfer money instantly or use the standard transfer option, which takes one to three days.
When the money hits your bank account, sign in to your Cash App account and tap the Bank icon at the lower left-hand corner of your phone. Tap “Add Cash” to transfer the funds you need from the bank account.
3. Connect a PayPal Cash Card to your Cash App account
While this technique is the reverse of this article’s main topic, you can still exchange money between payment platforms.
Like Cash App, PayPal has its own debit card called PayPal Debit Card.
Don’t have a PayPal Debit Card? Here’s how to order one:
- Click on the PayPal Debit Card hyperlink above.
- Review the address on file and update it if necessary.
- Click “Agree and Continue” before following the rest of the prompts.
After your card arrives — and you’ve activated it — sign in to your PayPal account and go to “Settings.” (If you haven’t already, set up your direct deposit.) Review your direct deposit info and record the banking details.
Then, go to Cash App and tap the “Account” icon in the upper right-hand corner. Tap “Link Bank,” and enter the PayPal Debit Card banking information.
When you’re ready to send funds to your bank, go to your Cash Balance, tap “Cash Out,” enter the amount you want to transfer, and choose a Standard or Instant deposit speed.
4. Download the PayPal app and load money at a retailer
This option requires you to visit a local store, but it’s pretty simple. Moreover, you need to download the PayPal app before you go.
Once you download the app, tap “Add cash at a store.” Choose a store like Walmart, CVS, or others on the list to generate a barcode.
Upon arrival, show the barcode to the cashier and give them the cash. (Fees for this method vary from store to store.) The money will appear in your PayPal balance within 15 minutes. Note that you can add $20 to $500 per transaction.
Afterward, transfer the balance to either your bank account or your Cash App Cash Card and retrieve your funds via Cash App.
