Lately, I’ve been looking for stores like IKEA.
We’re moving soon and I need some new furniture and other items for our new home.
And when it comes to discount furniture stores, Ikea is one of the best.
There are so many ways to save money at IKEA. With its budget-friendly furniture, home decor, bedding, mattresses, lighting, and even appliances, the Swedish home furnishings company is one of the best places to shop.
What I particularly like about Ikea furniture is that because they are so popular, there are so many Ikea furniture hacks that make it easy to transform the store-bought piece into something truly unique and one of a kind.
Not to mention most Ikea pieces are so easy to assemble.

IKEA is great. Really. It has so much modern yet affordable furniture, and its storage solutions are just awesome.
I bought storage containers for my closet. They were so helpful in getting everything organized, and they were cheap too.
Sure, IKEA is great, but it’s not my only go-to for homeware.
Much of the furniture and home décor at IKEA is modern style. Modern stuff is nice, but I also enjoy classic and traditional style furniture. And, IKEA is not really known for that. So, I like to shop in other places.
I also just like having a few different options. Sometimes IKEA doesn’t have what I want, so I want to find a store that does.
If you are looking to furnish your home and want some affordable stores that are similar to IKEA, then this is the post for you.
In this list, I’ll cover some of the best IKEA alternatives. Furnish your home on a budget with these stores.

Top Alternatives to IKEA
Here are the best furniture and home decor stores similar to Ikea.
1. Wayfair
Wayfair is my go-to when I’m in the market for furniture and home décor. With 5,000 brands of furniture, lighting, cookware, and more to choose from, the options are vast at Wayfair.
Furniture and home décor pieces are available in so many different styles from modern to rustic to traditional. Not everything on there is super cheap, I’ll level with you! You can find some really pricey pieces on there.

However, there are some really affordable items on there. You can find the cheapest products on there by selecting “Price Per Item: Low to High” on the drop-down menu next to “Sort By.”
Wayfair often runs sales where you can get some big discounts. Free shipping is available on most items too. And you can get 10% off your order when you sign up for emails. So, there are plenty of ways to save money at Wayfair.
2. World Market
Want affordable home décor and furniture from around the world? Then try World Market.
This site has some stylish pieces that are sure to make your home look awesome. Get furniture for indoor and outdoor spaces, and browse a beautiful selection of home décor pieces too.
Prices are affordable, making it a good competitor to IKEA. Home décor pieces on there are as cheap as $5!
3. Scandinavian Designs
Whenever somebody asks, “What is one step up from IKEA?“, I immediately think of Scandinavian Designs.
When it comes to style, Scandinavian Designs is one of the best IKEA alternatives. Just like IKEA, it has a range of modern, contemporary home furnishings for customers to enjoy.
Pricewise is where Scandinavian Designs falls short in my opinion. You can get coffee tables at IKEA for like $30 and they cost $100s at Scandinavian Designs.
So, if you are looking for affordable furniture, Scandinavian Designs is not the best choice, but it’s a great IKEA alternative in terms of style.
Scandinavian Designs features the same modern Scandinavian-style furniture that you can find at IKEA.
4. H&M
The home section at H&M is just fantastic for furniture. If you enjoy that sort of trendy, modern-style furniture and décor that you get at IKEA, then H&M is the store for you.
It has that type of trendy furniture and décor that is perfect for those who enjoy the style of IKEA pieces.
Price-wise H&M is also great. There’s a sale section where you can get some awesome discounts – like 60% off!
Sign up to receive emails and texts and you can get 15% off your order. Students can get 10% off at H&M.
5. AllModern
AllModern has everything you need to get your home looking great. Whether you live in a one-bedroom apartment or a four-bedroom house, you can find pieces to suit your home.
Furniture over $35 ships for free – it’s always good to save money on shipping, right? And there’s even a sale section on the site where you can grab some bargains.
6. Crate & Barrel
Is rustic and modern your jam? If so, Crate & Barrel is for you. The selection of furniture at the store is so beautiful. There are ways to save money there too.
Check out the sale section to find discounted items. You can find items that are 60% off!
And sign up for emails to get 10% off full price items and to get alerts about sales.
7. Blu Dot
Blu Dot is another store like IKEA.
It has a selection of modern furniture that’s similar to what you’d find at IKEA. The company has bedroom furniture, living room furniture, storage, outdoor furniture, and more to decorate your home with.
Prices on Blu Dot aren’t as affordable as some of the other sites on the list. Still though, style-wise, Blu Dot is similar to IKEA. There’s a sale section on the site too where you can find some money-saving deals.
