How Much Does CSL Plasma Pay?
According to CSL Plasma, you can make up to $1,000 in your first month.
After that, the numbers vary quite a lot. CSL Plasma does not offer any monthly figures for repeat donors, just new donors. CSL Plasma also does not provide any per donation figures for either new donors or repeat donors.
After much research online, it seems that how much donors are paid depends on their weight and the location. So, payment varies from center to center.
Typically, CSL pays first-time donors $20 for the first donation of the week and then $45 for the second donation of the week.
This amounts to about $260 per month. Like I said earlier though, some centers pay more, and your weight is also a factor in how much you can earn. Some reports suggest donors can earn up to $400 a month.

There are bonuses for new donors that can increase earnings to $700 to $1,000 for the first month.
One Redditor mentions CSL Plasma offering a bonus for new donors, saying,
- “Donations take between 45-90 minutes and pay $100-$125 per donation for the first 8 donations.”
So, that works out at $800 to $1,000 for the first month.
Average payment is around $260 a month, but you can earn more than that by taking advantage of bonuses if your location offers them.
How to check for bonuses at CSL Plasma
If you want to earn more money, then you should take a look at any bonuses offered by the company.
Here’s how:
- Visit this page to find your nearest donation center. Scroll down, and there’s a box where you can search for centers by your state or zip code.
- Once you have selected your state or entered your zip code, you will get a list of donation centers near you. For each center, you will be able to view details, like the address, opening hours, and contact details. On the right, click on “Donation Center Details & Rewards.”
- This will take you to a page for that particular center, and you’ll be able to view any available coupons.
Another option is to simply give your local center a call and ask about any bonuses on offer. You can find the contact information for your local center by following the first two steps above.
How Does CSL Plasma Pay You?
When you have donated plasma, the payment will be loaded directly onto a reloadable card that you can use right away.
There’s also a donor loyalty program that you can join, called iGive Rewards. With the program, you can earn points for every donation you complete.
You can redeem points for rewards, like Fast Cash or special Deal of the Day merchandise when available. Fast Cash orders are electronically loaded to your reloadable prepaid card within 24 to 48 business hours.
The program has different membership levels, which are Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. The more you donate plasma, the more points you receive, and the rewards get better as you move up in membership levels.
The rewards program is a good way to make more money donating plasma.
How Long Does it Take to Donate Plasma?
Donating plasma works differently than having blood drawn. Plasma is just one component of your blood. It’s a yellow liquid that makes up around 55% of the total blood volume.
The reason why plasma donation is so important, and why centers are willing to pay donors, is because plasma cannot be made synthetically. It can only be taken from healthy adults.
Because it cannot be manufactured, and many companies need it to produce medicines and treatments, plasma is in high demand.
You can donate it at centers, and it is taken during a process called plasmapheresis.
In some ways, the process of donating plasma is similar to the process of having blood drawn, but it’s also pretty different.
Both processes begin in the same way, with a needle being placed into a vein.
The difference is that while having blood drawn takes less than ten minutes, the process of taking plasma can be much longer.
When donating plasma, the whole blood is drawn, just as it is when you have a blood test. The difference is that only the plasma part is retained.
The plasma is collected through a process called plasmapheresis.
Plasmapheresis involves a machine that removes the whole blood and then separates the plasma component of it into a container. Your red blood cells and other parts of the blood are then re-infused into the body.
Your first donation at CSL Plasma will usually take from two to two and a half hours. The donation process is longer the first time you do it, because it will include a health assessment. Subsequent donations usually take around one to one and a half hours.
Final Thoughts
I like this type of money-making option. Not only are you making some extra cash, but you are also helping someone in need. That’s why I am also a fan of donating sperm or eggs for money.
At CSL Plasma, donors can expect to earn $25 for their first donation of the week and $45 for their second donation of the week, on average. Average monthly earnings are $260.
Earnings can be higher though depending on your weight and the center.
New donors can earn $700 to $1,000 for their first month if there are promotions available.
If you want figures that are specific to your weight and location, then I would highly recommend that you call your local CSL Plasma center to inquire. The company is pretty vague about earnings on its website, so getting in touch is a good idea if you want to know how much your local center pays donors.

I have helped 10 people so far donating my plasma… I had no idea that I would be paid for it… I just wanted to get back in a positive way… I plan on donating my earnings towards a nonprofit organization
