What is Digital Reflection Panel?
It’s a market research company focused on internet usage in people’s homes.
It’s very similar to Smart Panel (review here) in that they monitor computers, phones, gaming consoles, and more in order to figure out how people use the internet on these devices.
This information is valuable to companies, as it helps them tailor their marketing to demographics they wish to reach. Digital Reflections pays members to participate in the research of internet usage so that these companies can gain access to this information.
Not only are you getting paid for basically surfing the Internet, but the company also plants 50,000 trees each month on behalf of the members who participate in their research. When you join, you’re helping the environment too!

How Do I Join?
It’s actually quite easy to join if you follow these simple steps.
Step 1: Click here to start the process. Fill out a quick questionnaire to check if you are eligible.
Step 2: Review the privacy and terms of service agreements, then accept them.
Step 3: Confirm that other members of your household, and anyone else that uses your network, agree to participate. The program will monitor anyone that connects to your network while they are connected.
Step 4: Answer just a few more questions and give a mailing address for the company to send an internet meter to you.
Step 5: Set up the internet meter following their guide, which is provided with the equipment. You’ll have to register all the devices you own that are connected to the network. Devices that need to be registered are:
- Laptops
- iPads
- iPhones
- iPods
For each device you register, you’ll get rewarded money too!
Step 6: Use your devices as normal and get paid each month.
It’s that easy!
Digital Reflection Sign up Link
You may have noticed that when you go to their homepage, there is no “sign up” or “join” link. There is a “login” link for those who are already members.

So how do you join DR?
Will, it seems like you can only join via invitation. The company from time to time will have open slots. I will keep an eye on that and the next time they have registration open, I’ll update this post and add the link to it. Bookmark this post and check back often so you don’t miss the link.
Until then, here are a few other similar sites you can join today and start making money:
- Smart Panel
- Savvy Connect
- Nielsen Digital Voice (Computer & Mobile Panel)
Who Can Join?
Before signing up, you might want to make sure you are eligible.
Members must be:
- Living in the United States
- Have a wireless network router with an open port
- A primary user at least 18 years old
- Willing to install the internet meter on their home wireless router
- Willing to register devices to be monitored by the internet meter
If there is anyone in the house under 16, they need a parent or legal guardian also living in the house.
To join, you will need to also agree to the terms of participation. If anyone is under the age of 13, you will have to complete a survey that confirms you are the parent or guardian of the child and that you consent to their internet activity being monitored.
How Much Can I Earn?
There are several ways you can earn money, and it’s highly dependent on how what you want to do.
You earn money for:
- Installing your internet meter
- Completing device updates once a month
- Registering all qualified devices
- Keeping your meter plugged in
You also earn extra money as a speed bonus if you install the internet meter within four days of receiving it.
For your first device update, you’ll get $25. After that, you’ll earn $5 for each device update you do. Device updates need to be done on Windows computers, Mac computers, iPhones, and iPads. In the future, they may also open up options for Android devices.
To make this easy to understand, here’s how earnings are broken down:
- You can earn $30 in the first month of participation starting from the time you install
- You can get $60 more reward dollars by the end of the third month of participation
- You are likely to get $240 in the first year of participation by following their updates and installing quickly
Commonly Asked Questions
These are the commonly asked questions most people have when thinking about joining this program.
What information do they collect?
The internet meter monitors all internet activity. Even if you aren’t connected to the internet, the meter may monitor your device.
The information it collects is:
- Web browsers you use
- Search engines you use
- The type of device that’s connected
- Types of transactions done online
- Cookie information
- Time spent on a site
- Speed of the computer processor
- Memory capacity of your device
- Internet connection speed
- Type of router you use
- Type of printer you use if you have one
They also monitor information posted on websites and apps such as:
- Names
- Addresses
- Phone numbers
- Emails
- Other online contact details
Information such as personal medical history, bank account numbers, or any personal financial information is encrypted and is obscured from the metering device as much as possible. They do not store this type of information, nor are they interested in it.
It should also be noted that the data they collect is never tied to your name. For instance, they may know that a certain person may like to shop at Target on their phone. However, they process this data in a way that puts a user in a demographic, such as a 50-year-old woman who shops at Target on a mobile device.
When you join the panel, they have you answer a survey that tells you about the members of your household, including their age and gender. This helps them understand the data they are sending as well as what demographic your family fits into.
Why are they interested in this information?
The information provided to the company helps them better understand internet usage trends. This helps them come up with better marketing tactics that will appeal to all demographics.
Who do they share this information with?
Only a partial amount of the information collected is shared with their clients. Personal information, like your address or name, isn’t given away. Only your general demographics are provided.
Now, to answer the question, this information is given to business clients looking for ways to improve their marketing. Businesses look at the reports and learn how the internet and digital media are used to generate sales and so on. Then they can take this information and use it to improve their policies.
There are, however, a few other instances they can use your information according to the user agreement they make.
They may:
- Share data with consultants that work for Digital Reflections Panel
- Provide you with any information or services you request
- Respond to subpoenas, court orders, or any other legal processes in which it is required to release this information
- Defend against legal claims and enforce contracts
- If the company is sold, all information collected will be in the hands of the new owner
- Give information to affiliates, parent companies, or partner companies
How does my personal information stay private?
All data is safely encrypted and protected with digital security mechanisms. The company also agrees not to sell or release data other than what is already agreed to in the user agreement.
Does everyone in my household need to participate?
Yes, this is why you sign a consent form when you sign up. Any device connected to the internet on your network is monitored, so therefore anyone in your household automatically is participating.
How do we check how many reward dollars we have earned?
Log in to the Digital Reflection panel website and you’ll see that your recent rewards earned are shown on the home page. A complete history of your rewards earned is displayed on the Rewards page.
How long does it take for reward dollars to be placed into my account?
Reward dollars appear in your account within a day after confirming the installation of the internet meter. Device update rewards are given within a week of completing the update and confirming the registration. Any other rewards will take about a week as well.
How many reward dollars do I need to have to redeem them?
Your account must contain a reward balance of $50 before you redeem them. Any increment of $50 can be redeemed.
What kind of rewards can I get?
Types of rewards are:
- Visa gift cards
- PayPal credit
- Charitable donations
Better Business Bureau Rating
According to the BBB, Digital Reflection Panel has been around for about three years. They have a one-star rating on the site, however, that is from only one review so it really doesn’t give a clear picture of what users actually think.
They have a B- rating because of the responses they have to customer complaints. In the past three years, there have been 12 complaints closed. In the last year, only one complaint has been closed.

Customer Reviews
Before joining the program, you probably want to know what other users have said about it in the past. Here are the reviews we found most helpful.
“Earned $320 so far from them. Successfully redeemed $300 of it to PayPal,” said one Reddit user, who also provided dates of payments later on in their comment.
“I feel like sometimes it also may inject ads and interfere with some survey providers and GPT sites coming off as a proxy. Can’t confirm that for sure yet, but just be prepared. So far though it’s been about three months and I’ve cleared over $100 on it so I can’t complain too much,” said a Reddit user.
“It totally stopped my FIOS service even TV since it uses the internet. I was without any internet or TV for several days until a service tech could come by and it took a while to figure out that their box stopped the FIOS server from seeing the client,” said a Reddit user.
There is also a very interesting report someone did on whether or not the internet meter provided by the company is malicious or not. They found several unidentified IPs were on their network after installing the device. The post is quite technical, but if you wish to read it you can click here.
Pros & Cons
To keep things easy, here is a simplified list of pros and cons we made based on information we gathered about the program.
Pros
These are the positive aspects of the program:
- You earn a lot of money compared to other internet monitoring programs
- They pay out pretty quickly
- The amount you get is fairly steady, unlike some other sites of this type
- Once it’s set up, it doesn’t take much work to keep things up to date
Cons
Here are the not so great aspects of the program:
- Set up takes a while when you install the internet meter
- They collect a lot more information than most sites
- There are concerns that the company may do something malicious to your network
- Because it’s connected to your network, it can severely slow down your connection and may even crash it
Is Digital Reflection Panel Worth It?
While on the surface level this program does sound like a really good deal, there are a lot of concerns with security and what other activities they may do. It is most likely perfectly safe to participate, but you make want to keep a close eye on your virus protection software and do consistent security scans.
Have you been a part of this program? Are there any other sites you’ve tried that monitor your internet usage? Let us and our readers know about your experiences with Digital Reflection Panel and/or other survey panels like it, in the comments below.

I had a problem with the Digital Reflection Panel meter not transmitting and instead of replacing it they closed my account at $45 and I only needed 5 more dollars. They could have waited until the update on 11/7/2022 but they closed it today. They could have replaced the meter. They want me to pay to send the meter back. Don’t waste your time with this
shady company. If something malfunctions it’s on you.

Scam, they take your information then when you want to claim your earnings you can’t. I really wish I wouldn’t have trusted the site I got there information from because who knows what information they really got from my devices and they didnt uphold there end of the deal in the long run. ITS VERY TEMPTING BUT DO NOT DO ITT

The Digital Reflection box is not only spyware, but malware. I was unable to access certain web sites, including my banks. Not knowing the source of the problem, I contacted my Internet Service Provider, and then Microsoft, and after 8 hours on the phone, I finally hired the Geek Squad to make a house call, which cost me $338, and they discovered after spending three hours checking my cables, modem, and router, that the Digital Reflection box and the blue cord was causing my issue. I am warning everyone never to install this malware, and if you have it installed already, disconnect it. Digital Reflections flatly refused to reimburse me for the money I paid the Geek Squad. Digital Reflections is disreputable, and dangerous.
