Here are our top seven ways to test out Amazon products.
1. Join Amazon Vine
Our first tip is to join Amazon Vine.
This is a program that’s actually run by Amazon.
It’s an invitation-only program.
Amazon selects trusted reviewers to post their opinions about new and pre-release products.
These reviewers who are invited into the program are called Vine Voices.
If you become a Vine Voice, then Amazon gives you free products from participating vendors.
You can leave can leave an honest and unbiased opinion on the item.
How to become an Amazon Vine Reviewer
Since the program is invitation-only, there is no way to apply to it.
There are, however, a few things that Amazon looks for when selecting Vine Voices.
Amazon selects customers based on their reviewer rank.
Now, each customer who reviews stuff on Amazon has a reviewer rank. This rank is an indicator of the quality of your reviews, and how helpful other Amazon customers judge them to be.
Amazon states that customers who write helpful reviews on a consistent basis are most likely to be invited into the program.
It also states that customers who develop a reputation for expertise in specific product categories are also more likely to be invited into the program.

Tips for Becoming an Amazon Product Tester
In this section, we’re going to provide you with a few tips to success as an Amazon product tester.
Get started by Reviewing your Previous Purchases
A good place to start as a tester is posting reviews on products you’ve already purchased on Amazon.
This tip is particularly useful if you want to become part of Amazon Vine.
Obviously, an account with little or no reviews isn’t going to impress Amazon.
So, start by padding out your profile with reviews.
Make sure that your reviews are well-written and helpful. If you can, include photos of the product in your review.
Creating good quality reviews that other customers find helpful makes you more likely to be approached to test free or highly discounted products.
Join Amazon Prime
The websites and programs we mentioned above give you products that you can test out for free, or at a huge discount.
But, the only problem is the cost of shipping.
For most platforms, you’ll need to pay for shipping, even if you have a coupon that gives you 100% off the cost of the product.
The cost of shipping can often negate the benefits of getting a free or low cost product.
That’s why we’d highly recommend signing up for an Amazon Prime membership – if you’re not already a member.
It costs just $12.99 a month.
But, you get free shipping on all Prime eligible items.
And that alone, makes Amazon Prime worth it.
What’s great about Prime is that you can get free shipping on all orders (as long as they contain Prime eligible items) without having to hit a spending minimum.
So this means that even if you only spend $5 – you can still get free shipping.
It’s definitely worth signing up for Prime because it pays for itself each month after just a couple of deliveries.
Also, Prime gives you access to other benefits, like Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming service and Prime Reading, which gives you access to free books!
- Sign up for Prime here.
Sign up for Multiple Sites & Programs
Our last tip is to make sure that you sign up to as many product testing programs/websites as you can.
This gives you the best chance of finding discounts and free offers for products that you’ll actually use.
If one site doesn’t have any offers that you’re interested in, then checking out one of the other sites on our list will give you more options.
So we’d suggest signing up to all seven places that we mentioned above.
Of course, you can’t sign up to Amazon Vine, but still keep it in mind.
As we said above, write lots of reviews on the stuff you buy on Amazon to try to establish yourself as a trusted reviewer.
If you do that, then you’ll increase your chances of being selected by Amazon.
Closing thoughts
If you’ve wanted to know how to become an Amazon product tester, then follow our steps above.
Although Amazon’s new policies have lessened the opportunities out there for product testers and reviewers, there are still some great opportunities to be had.
Give one of the above methods a try and start getting yourself some free or heavily discounted items.
And, if you’re just getting started as an Amazon product tester, then let us know about it in the comments section below.

A card to sign up as tester was in item I purchased on amazon. I contacted them and they said I was to buy one of their selected products and write a review. They would in turn reimburse me through pay pal. Would this be a legit offer or is this a scam.
Saeed
Kio, it’s hard to know without knowing the product name and the company behind it. The one thing that concerns is me that they told you they’d reimburse you via PayPal instead of directly to your Amazon account. It’s hard to know as many legit sellers do that on Amazon and unfortunately, there are also many scammers.
Now one good thing is that Amazon has a great return policy. So if the company doesn’t reimburse you, you could always return the item. If you are going to do that, make sure you keep that email or message from them just in case you need to show proof later.
