Panel App Review: Scam or a Legit Way to Get Paid to Do Nothing?

It’s a lot like the SavvyConnect app which as I explained in our make money installing app post, uses data for the purpose of analytics and reporting.

Essentially, this data is used to provide third parties with valuable insights.

Your phone must be connected to the Internet and GPS must be on in order for PA to work.

You can opt out at any time – just uninstall the app.

In return for sharing your data, PA rewards you with points that you can redeem for cash.

Points can also be earned by doing other things, like taking surveys and referring friends.

Considering that the app does use GPS, it does not affect your phone’s battery life too significantly.

Is PA Legitimate?

Online, PA is, overall well-reviewed.

On the Google Play Store, the app has more than 30,000 reviews and a four-star rating, which is pretty impressive.

And, on Facebook, the app is similarly well-reviewed. It has a 4.6 out of 5 rating.

So it’s a pretty reputable app that has received a lot of praise online.

How to Get Started

If you want to use PA, then you need to meet the following requirements.

You must:

• Be at least 14 years old. If you are between the ages of 14 and 18, then you’ll need to get parental consent.
• Live in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, or the United States of America.
• Have an iOS (8.0 or newer) or Android device (4.0.3 or newer).

To create your account on the app, you’ll need to sign up in one of the following ways:

• Email
• Facebook

If you want to create your account with your email address, then go to the login screen and select “Create Account.”

You are taken to a screen and the app will ask you to enter your email, as well as your phone number.

You will also have to create a password at this point.

Once you’ve created your account, you will also have to answer some demographic questions. This doesn’t take long and the information you provide is kept private and anonymous.

After you have created your account, and have answered the demographic questions, you can start earning points.

How to earn points on Panel App

There are a few different ways that you can use PA to earn points.

Here are a few:

• Leave PA to run in the background of your phone

This is the main way that you earn points with this app – it’s also the simplest method!

Just open up the app and leave it to run in the background of your phone.

It’s a totally passive way to earn points.

• Take surveys

Another way to get points on PA is to take surveys.

Periodically, PA sends out surveys.

The surveys it sends out are based on where you live and the places that you visit.

You are more likely to get surveys sent to you if you visit a lot of places with the app running on your phone.

Generally, you’ll need to have the app for at least one to two weeks before you receive a survey.

• Refer a Friend

You might be wondering whether there is a Panel App code that you get points for sharing.

Well, there’s no code, but you can share a referral link.

Referring friends to PA will net you some extra points.

When your friend or family member registers for PA, you receive 10% of the points that they earn.

To refer a friend, do the following:

1. Go to the “Referrals” tab.
2. Tap on the yellow button that contains a plus button on Android devices, and a share icon on iOS devices.
3. The app will display a list of ways in which you can refer people. So choose the option that you want, whether that’s through text, email, Facebook or Google+

Once your referral starts earning points, you earn more points!

It can take up to three days before a new referral appears on your all-time referrals count.

If after three days, you don’t see a referral appear on your account, then just contact the PA support team.

You’ll just need to provide your email address and the email address your referral used when they signed up, as well as the date on which you referred them.

Is there a way to earn points faster?

Unfortunately, there’s no Panel App hack you can use to get points fast.

We’d recommend that you have the app running as often as you can when you leave the house. So when you go to the grocery store, or to the movies have the app open on your phone.

Doing this will open up more opportunities for you to receive surveys, which net you extra points.

Also, we’d also suggest that you participate in surveys when you receive them. This is a good way to boost your points.

And, don’t forget that referring a friend also nets you more points!

What are points worth?

You will need to accrue a certain number of points before you can redeem them for prizes.

How much your points are worth is not as straightforward as 1 point equals $1 overall.

Instead, different prizes require a different number of points. So for some prizes, 1 point will equal $1, but for others, it won’t.

Here are a few examples of what your points can get you (at the time of writing):

• $5 Amazon Gift Card: 5,000 points
• $5 Visa Gift Card: 5,000 points
• $25 Amazon Gift Card: 20,000 points
• $25 Visa Gift Card: 20,000 points

How to Redeem Points

After you’ve earned enough points, you can redeem them.

Just tap on the “Redeem Now” button, which can be found on your home screen.

Here’s what you can get with your points:

• Sweepstakes Prizes

When you have enough points you can redeem them for an entry into a sweepstakes prize.

So each time that you redeem your points for a prize that includes the term “Sweepstakes” in the name, you get an entry into a lottery draw.

The more sweepstakes entries that you redeem, the greater your chances are of winning.

On the first business day of each month, the app holds drawings for most of its sweepstakes.

Users from the USA also get access to daily and weekly sweepstakes.

If you win, then the app will notify you via email. Winners are also announced on the Panel App Facebook page, and on the brand’s blog.

• Guaranteed Prizes

On PA, you can also redeem your points for guaranteed prizes.

These are usually gift cards. But, other rewards are sometimes available.

If you want a guaranteed prize, then you’ll have to spend more points, as unlike the sweepstakes prizes, guaranteed prizes, as the name suggests, are guaranteed.

So, if you redeem a prize with the term “guaranteed” in the name, then PA will send you an email within two weeks after the day you redeem.

Make sure that you check your spam/junk folder as the email can sometimes end up in there. PA states that if you don’t receive your prize within two weeks, that you should contact its support team.

Before you are eligible to redeem prizes, PA must verify your account.

This is a fairly simple process.

Just select the prize that you want to redeem your points for.

You will then get a message that will send a verification email. Then you get an email with a link/button to verify your account.

What Does Panel App Get Out of It? And is the App Safe?

You might be wondering, why would an app give you rewards, simply for running it in the background?

Well, it’s simple really.

Panel App describes itself as a loyalty incentive app.

And as we briefly mentioned above, it collects data about your location and sells it to third parties.

It is very similar to SavvyConnect and SmartPanel app.

But, here’s a little more detail about it.

PA runs by collecting location using your phone’s GPS and internet.

Then this information is collected and given to the app’s parent company, “Placed.”

Placed then uses this to generate marketing reports.

You might also be wondering, what PA does with this information?

Is using this app safe, or does it affect your privacy?

Well, PA states that;

“Analytics and reporting are limited to aggregates of multiple users and are not available at the individual level to third parties and is not used for individual ad targeting.”

And the company states that any identifiable information, like your name and address, is removed.

How Much Can You Really Earn with Panel App?

Here’s the deal…

1. You’re not going to make a ton of money from PA.
2. And earnings with the app can vary from person to person.

One PA user states in this Reddit post that they will only earn $12 in a year from it.

Another user states that they earned $25 in a year.

Whereas another user in another post on Reddit states that they earn $7 per month and that they have more than 20 referrals.

PA states that the points you earn aren’t equivalent to the number of miles that you travel. Instead, the number of points you get is based on the number of locations sent over to the app.

PA also states that if you live in a more bustling area, like a city for example, then your app will send more locations than a person who lives in a rural area would.

So keep that in mind.

As we said above, the amount you earn with the app isn’t a lot.

You’d earn a better amount by joining loyalty programs at the stores you regularly shop at or by using get paid to (GPT) websites.

But, with Panel App, you literally get paid to do nothing.

• You don’t have to watch ads.
• You don’t have to buy anything.
• You don’t have to complete offers.
• You don’t have to do anything.

Of course, you do have the option of taking surveys, but if you don’t want to, then you can simply earn just by having this app installed and open on your phone.

So while you won’t earn much with this app, it’s still money, however little it may be, that you get for doing absolutely nothing!

We’d say that if you don’t mind having GPS on your phone, then you should definitely give this app a try.

Getting money for doing nothing is always a plus, which is why you might want to give PA a try.

Personally, I don’t think it’s worth my time. But if you’re looking for a few extra dollars here and there, it’s a legit app that does pay.

You won’t earn a lot, but you just have to leave the app running in the background of your phone and you get points.

And, you can earn even more by answering simple surveys.

So if you’re looking for another way to make a few extra bucks, then you might want to add Panel App to your list of money-making apps.
