Where to Sell Used Baby Clothes for Cash
Here are the best sites and apps for selling your kid’s used clothes online and get the most cash for ’em.
1. Kidzen
When it comes to selling used baby clothes online for cash Kidzen is an underrated site/app. It’s an online marketplace that’s designed for buying and selling kid’s clothes. You can list stuff for sale on there, or if you don’t have the time to sell stuff yourself, then you can work with one of the company’s Style Scouts, and they will sell your baby clothes for you.
When someone buys your baby clothes, you get paid right to your PayPal account or bank account, which is always handy!
2. eBay
A great website for getting cash for used stuff is eBay, and that’s because you can list a huge range of kid’s items on there. This means that if you have a wide variety of items to put up for sale, then you can list them all in one place. This saves you the hassle of having to list stuff for sale on multiple sites.
You can put baby toys, clothes, furniture and more up for sale on eBay. You can list 50 items on there for free. After that, you will have to pay a listing fee.
When somebody buys your stuff, you will have to pay a commission fee as well. Since you can list up to 50 items for free, you don’t have to part with any cash upfront.
3. Toycycle
Next on the list we have Toycycle. It’s a company that offers full-service consignment. So if you’re looking for a convenient way to make money from used baby stuff, then Toycycle could be a great option for you. Toycycle will pick up your stuff and sell it for you. Then, you get paid.
Now, for providing this service, Toycycle does take a cut of the profits. If someone buys your item, then you get to keep between 15% and 80% of the sale.
This percentage rate is based on the value of each item. Higher value items receive a higher payout. You can get paid in cash or get store credit instead. There’s also the option to donate your earnings to charity.

5Miles is definitely an app to consider because it doesn’t charge you any commission. So, you get to keep all of the money that you make from the sale.
While the website doesn’t charge you a commission fee, it does charge listing fees for some categories.
Now, aside from the zero commission fees, 5Miles is a great site to list stuff for sale on because you can sell items across multiple categories. So whether it’s kid’s clothes, books, or toys, you’ll be able to list your stuff for sale on 5Miles.
You can sell your used baby stuff to people nearby.

One of the biggest benefits of Mercari is that you can list your stuff for sale for free on there. I always like sites that allow you to list stuff for free, because it means that if no one purchases your stuff, then you haven’t wasted any money.

9. eBid
Another option that you could consider is eBid. This is an auction website like eBay. But, eBid is, in fact, much better reviewed than eBay is on sites like Trustpilot.
Now, aside from glowing reviews, eBid is also a great site because it offers so many categories where you can list stuff for sale.
In fact, there are more than 25,000 categories available to sell in. Now, this means that you can sell everything from books, to toys, to clothes!
With eBid, there are membership levels. The Basic Seller account, which is for the casual seller, is free. But, when your stuff sells, the site charges you a 5% final value fee. If you don’t want to pay that fee, then you will have to choose the paid plan, which is called Seller+.
Now, the price of the Seller+ account varies depending on the payment plan that you choose:
- 7 Day: $1.99
- 30 Day: $6.99
- 90 Day: $16.99
- 365 Day: $69.99

Just send your stuff to the company using the shipping label provided. You’ll need to drop off your stuff with FedEx or USPS. Then, the company handles the rest for you. It will inspect your clothes, and if they meet the company’s quality standards, then the clothes will be photographed, listed, and shipped to customers.
When eligible items are sold, you’ll get paid. You can cash out your earnings or choose to get shopping credit instead.

This is great because it means that you don’t have to worry about wasting money if no one purchases your items.
When your stuff is sold, you do have to pay a fee.
You’re charged a flat rate fee of $2.95 for sales that are under $15.
And, for sales that are more than $15, you’re charged a 20% commission rate, so you get to keep 80% of the profits. Overall, it’s a good site for getting cash for kids and baby clothes.

Guide for Selling Baby Stuff for the Most Money
Now, you have lots of places to sell baby stuff online, and also some stores where you can sell baby stuff near you. In this section, I want to give you a quick, step-by-step guide to selling baby stuff so that you have the most success!
This guide is for sites like Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, 5Miles, and Craigslist where you can post an ad.
So, follow this guide when you come to list baby stuff for sale…
1. Freshen up the items
You want to freshen up whatever it is you’re selling. If it’s toys, then give them a good clean, or if it’s clothes, then wash them or get them dry-cleaned, and make sure that they’re not wrinkled.
Items that look tired or are stained just aren’t appealing to potential buyers. So take a little time to just freshen up the stuff that you plan to put up for sale. It’s important to sell stuff in its best possible condition.
2. Take some great photos
You’ll need some great photos for your listing. Make sure the photos are:
- Clear
- Not grainy or blurry
- Taken in a place with great natural lighting
You’ll want to make sure that you photograph the front and back of the item and that you take photos of any details on items like clothes and furniture.
3. Be honest about the condition of your items
When you come to list baby stuff for sale, make sure that you’re honest about the condition that it’s in.
You don’t want a disappointed buyer. If you write a great description of an item and then when the buyer gets it, there are marks or scratches or any damage that wasn’t mentioned in the listing, then they aren’t going to be happy. And, since many websites, like eBay, allow buyers to leave reviews for sellers, this could result in you getting a negative review. If you have negative reviews, then it could make it tougher for you to make more sales in the future.
That’s why you should be honest about the condition of whatever it is you’re advertising. Make sure you mention any marks, stains, rips, or any other type of damage to the item. This way, the buyer knows what to expect from the item.
4. Write an attention-grabbing headline
It’s important for your listing to have a great heading. The headline is what gets people to click on the listing and it helps people to find your listing.
Here’s how to create a great headline:
- Use searchable words and terms: You want buyers to be able to find your listing so use relevant keywords.
- Be specific: “Stuffed toy for sale” is a little vague. “Stuffed giraffe toy for sale” is much better. Make sure you include things like the brand, size, color, and condition of the item in the headline. But don’t be too verbose. Just include some of the item’s best features, like if the item is barely used then mention that.
5. Write a great description for your listing
Now, it’s time for the description.
Make sure the description gives the buyer all of the details they need to know without being too long or boring.
Here are a few tips for writing description:
- Start your description by explaining what it is that you’re advertising. Since people are busy, it’s best to get straight to the point.
- State why you’re putting the item up for sale. You could say that your child has outgrown the item, for example.
- Make sure you’re honest about the condition of the item, as I mentioned above. In your description, you should state any marks or damage to the item.
- Make sure that you include measurements. Include measurements, dimensions, and sizes, depending on what you’re listing.
- List the price: Even if the price is listed in another section, make sure that you list it again near the end of the ad. This way, you ensure that potential buyers are aware of the price. You could mention whether the price is fixed or “best offer.”
6. Download a measurements/size chart for the brand and include it in the photos
While it’s not a necessity, downloading and adding a measurement/size chart for the brand of clothing that you’re advertising (if that’s what you’re listing) can make your post stand out.
Having a chart saves the customer having to ask questions like “Is this true to size?”
Just include the measurement/size chart in the photos if you can.
7. Set a price for your items
At this point, you’re probably wondering, “How much should I sell used baby items for?“. Well, that depends on many factors including the actual item you’re trying to sell and its condition
You don’t want to short-change yourself, but you also need to make sure that you set a realistic price for the baby stuff that you’re advertising.
You can have a look at what other people are charging for similar items on the site that you plan to use.
8. Respond to potential buyers as quickly as you can
Make sure that you respond to customer enquiries as fast as you can. If you don’t respond to a customer’s message about an item for a couple of days, then they may buy a similar item from another seller. And then you’ve missed out on a sale! So make sure that you respond to customer questions as quickly as you can.
9. Be safe when meeting up with buyer in-person
Whenever you meet up with someone from the internet to sell stuff in-person you need to make sure that you take safety precautions. It’s a good idea to meet in a public place, like outside of a supermarket or a police station. And, take somebody else with you to the meeting if you can.
10. List more items for sale fast
After your first few items are sold, you’re going to want to keep up the momentum if you have other stuff to sell. Previous customers could be interested in which items you have to list next. So, you want to make sure that there’s more stuff there for them to purchase. Make sure that you list the next item quickly. It’s a simple way to make more cash fast.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve been wondering where to sell baby stuff, then give the places on our list a try. And don’t forget to follow my step-by-step guide for listing baby stuff!
Kid’s grow out of stuff so fast or they get bored of toys that they used to like to play with, or they outgrow their crib and you’re left with a bunch of stuff that you once paid money for.
That’s why selling baby gear is so great. Not only do you clear out your home of stuff you no longer need (and we all could do with more space, right?), but you can also make some of the money that you originally spent back. So, it really is a win-win!
