How Does MobileXpression Work?
MobileXpression is a market research community that’s focused on improving the mobile internet.
It’s a data collection app for Android and iOS devices.
It invites users to join its panel and share their mobile surfing activity in exchange for credits, which can be redeemed for rewards.
You install the app on your phone, and it will gather data about your online activity on your mobile device, anonymously. It works in the background of your phone, so you don’t have to do anything to earn, making it a passive income app.
How to Join MobileXpression
Here’s how you can sign up and earn money with MobileXpression.
Step 1: Sign up
The first step is to sign up for MobileXpression, and install the software on your mobile app. You can sign up and get the app on the website here. You’ll need to visit the site on a mobile device in order to join MobileXpression.
In order to sign up, you need to be 18 years old, have a mobile device that’s compatible with the MobileXpression software, and be able to access the Internet from your mobile device.
Step 2: Allow the app to collect your data
Once you have signed up and have the software installed on your app, you’ll just need to leave it running in the background of your phone and allow it to collect your data as you use your phone.

For having the app running in the background of your phone, you’ll earn credits each week.
The app gathers your data anonymously. According to MobileXpression, its research software knows the names of the apps that you may have installed to send text messages or make phone calls, but it does not monitor your phone calls or messages, and it doesn’t record the phone numbers that you call or text.
It also says that it never records or monitors your private conversations, photos, or voicemail messages.
Step 3: Get paid
By allowing the app to collect your data, you earn credits. These credits can be redeemed for eGift cards. So if you are looking for legit free gift card apps, it’s a good one.
Unfortunately, PayPal isn’t available as a payment option. So, you earn gift cards with MobileExpression rather than actual cash.
With MobileXpression, you can earn gift cards for the following brands and retailers:
- Amazon
- Target
- Dunkin’ Donuts
- The Home Depot
- AMC Theatres
- Cold Stone Creamery
How Much Does MobileXpression Pay You?
Every week of activity pays two credits. The credits have different values depending on what you redeem them for.
So, here’s what your credits can get you:
- 10 credit rewards: $5 gift card
- 15 credit rewards: $10 gift card
For 15 credit rewards, each credit is worth around $0.66 (or $0.6666666666666667 to be exact), but for 10 credit rewards, each credit is only worth $0.50.
So, it’s better to wait until you have 15 credits before withdrawing a gift card because the value that you can get from them is better.
If you wait to redeem 15 credit rewards, you can earn $1.33 (or $1.333333333333333 to be exact) per week for having MobileXpression installed on your phone. So, you could earn $69.33 (or $69.33333333333333 to be exact) per year.
If you redeem just 10 credit rewards, then you will earn just $1 per week and just $52 per year.
Is MobileXpression Legit?
Users do not seem to have a good experience with MobileXpression and it’s not well-rated on platforms like Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
While it’s not an outright scam in that it’s not charging you money, it isn’t particularly well-rated, with many users complaining that when they went to cash out their earnings, the company locked their account and didn’t pay them.
Here’s how MobileXpression is rated across a few different platforms:
- On Trustpilot, MobileXpression has just 2.2 stars, which is a rating of “Poor.”
- On the BBB, MobileXpression has an F rating from the BBB, and it’s not accredited, and it has just 1.5 stars from users on there.
- On the Google Play store, MobileXpression has 3.7 stars from users.
There are some positive reviews of the company.
One user on Trustpilot says:
- “I love MobilexPression so much. I have earned so many gift cards from this and it’s an easy side hustle that you can do without doing anything. It just requires patience and to claim credits each week. How hard can it be? I don’t know why there are many negative reviews but I’ve had no problem and have been using this to save up money for Christmas presents!”
Another user also praises the company saying:
- “So simple. I can’t understand why there are so many negative reviews of this company, I’ve just received another £20 today and I’ve had no problems whatsoever (up to now) and been with them for over 18 months. All that is involved is one click on my laptop once a week, how easy can that be ?”
Unfortunately, though there are a lot of negative reviews of Mobile Expression.
On Trustpilot, one user says:
- “Ridiculous excuses. Same issue as everyone else. Never had any problems before, but now suddenly they don’t let me redeem, and the account’s been locked. Got some generic, dismissive response without an actual explanation. My further query is ignored. Don’t try to gaslight me, that’s disgusting.”
Another user on Trustpilot says:
- “SCAMMMM. I had it for a few months. My account had no problems and I was an active member… Until I went to redeem a gift card for the first time. They immediately locked my account during checkout and I emailed them asking about it and they said I suddenly “don’t fill the necessary participation requirements”… This company scams you and steals your personal information with a promise of gift cards with no return. Stay away.”
There are also many negative reviews of MobileXpression on the Google Play store.
One user on the Google Play store says:
- “Wish I could give this 0 stars. I was able to redeem my first gift card using this app, but my account was locked for no reason after trying to redeem the second one. I don’t think this app wants to pay out, so they lock your account so they don’t have to give out the rewards. When you contact them about locking your account, they just send a lame automated message. Uninstalled the app. It’s not worth the headache tbh.”
So, the reviews of MobileXpression are not great and there’s a concern that the app is collecting data and not paying people for it.
People on Reddit also complain about their accounts being locked and not being able to cash out their earnings. Have a read of this Reddit thread and this one to learn more.

MobileXpression Review: Overall Verdict
Making money passively is something that many people want to do. That’s why apps like MobileXpression seem so appealing. They claim you can earn money by simply installing an app on your phone and leaving it running in the background.
Unfortunately, MobileXpression isn’t worth your time.
There are so many users reporting that they had their accounts locked when they tried to cash out their earnings and that is not ideal.
Obviously, you want to get paid. After all, you are sharing your mobile data, so you deserve to be compensated for that.
Sadly, it seems as though MobileXpression isn’t paying many of its users. And, that’s not what you want from a money-making app.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend that you use MobileXpression.
