How to Get Half Price Movie Tickets Near You (Everyday, Not Just Tuesdays!)

Advertisements

Get movie tickets for 50% off near you (not just on Tuesdays, but every day of the week!)Even though digital distribution is at an all-time high, movie tickets are as expensive as ever.

When you consider all of the 3D films that are coming out, it seems pretty clear that movies are getting MORE expensive to go see!

So you might care to know that there are ways for you to get heavily discounted movie tickets.

We’re talking about getting half price movie tickets, and in some cases even up to 60% off.

This is thanks to Dealflicks, a site that works to fill the empty seats in theaters.

You might be thinking that this sounds similar to Priceline, and they’d agree; in fact, they bill themselves as the “Priceline of movie tickets.”

But movies aren’t exactly plane seats, so how does it work?

Dealflicks in a nutshell

Of course, this arrangement isn’t something that popped up overnight.

Dealflicks has worked hard to form partnerships with movie theaters all over the nation to provide discounts to their customers in return for filling the theaters’ empty seats.

All you need to do is enter your ZIP on the Dealflicks website.

After you do that, you’ll be told which movies are available for discounts at each theater.

It won’t be all of the movies that are showing at that theater; this is entirely based on availability.

I use the site all the time and to b honest, it takes less than 30 seconds to get the half off price.

Of course, that’s assuming it’s available for the movie I want to see. But even if there is no 50% off deal, in most cases, you’ll walk away with some kind of discount, be it 10% or 40% off .

The tickets that are available for discount will vary by:

Advertisements

  • Date and time: Even if you find a discount for the latest movie, it probably won’t be for all of the showings that day. Rather, the noon showing, or the 6pm showing. You’ll have to take the time slot you can get.
  • Concessions: Part of how Dealflicks works is that you may be asked to buy concessions along with your discounted seat, say, a small drink or popcorn. Usually, these deals will come out to below the cost of the regular ticket, but not always. The upside is that you still get a concession and a discounted ticket!

You can save up to 60%, though the discounts will normally fall between 30% and 50%.

In some cases, the discount will be pretty low, like 10% – in cases like this, it’s more of a discount for your concession than anything, but at least it’s that.

The site is as simple to use as they come: you enter your ZIP code, look through your local theaters and movies, and select the movie/theater deal that you want.

You’ll be asked to make an account, but it only requires an email address, so the sign up is quick and easy.

The bottom line

While movie theaters and planes don’t have much in common, they are similar in that unfilled seats is wasted money.

It makes perfect sense for someone to take the Priceline model and apply it to theaters, which is probably why this service got almost two million in funding since launching its beta.

Simple, easy, and mutually beneficial.

Using Dealflicks is a great way to go to movies you want to see in theaters, without having to break the bank.

You might be asked to buy a concession along with it, but most of us aren’t going to complain about that.

If there’s a movie you’re dying to see, it’s worth punching in Dealflicks beforehand and checking it out.
