It’s similar to the way Robux (the virtual currency of Roblox) can be used to purchase in-game stuff. And just like there are ways to get free Robux, there are legit ways to get V-Bucks for free as well.
If you want some new skins or other items for Fortnite, it can be sort of frustrating to get your hands on enough V-Bucks to actually buy them, especially if you don’t have much money or just don’t want to, you know, spend it all on Fortnite!
Well, you’ll be glad to know that there are actually ways to get V-Bucks for free. Yup – it’s true!
Now, it’s not as simple as just using some random code generator that claims to spew out endless amounts of V-bucks at no cost to you. Sadly, these free V-Bucks generators are just scams (but more on that below.)

V-Bucks, as I mentioned above, are the virtual currency of Fortnite. As you may already know, Fortnite is available in three different game mode versions, which include:
- Fortnite: Save the World
- Fortnite: Battle Royale
- Fortnite: Creative
Battle Royale is the most successful and most popular of the three, but the Save the World and Creative Versions are still loved by many players as well.
In this post, I’ll cover how you can get free V-Bucks for all three versions of the game. This means that no matter what version of the game you enjoy playing, you’ll get some free money to spend on whatever it is you need in-game!
To get your hands on V-Bucks for free, you will need to earn them. Thankfully, there are many ways in which you can do this.
I’ve broken it down into two main methods:
- Method 1: Play the game: You can earn free V-Bucks for playing the game itself.
- Method 2: Use other websites and apps: You can use websites and apps that give you free v-bucks, gift cards for the Xbox or PlayStation store, or PayPal money you can use to get your hands on free V-Bucks.
In this post, I’ll cover both methods, and give you lots of options for each one.
How to Get Free V-Bucks in Fortnite
Okay, so I’m going to start out with method number one. With this method, you earn free V-Bucks simply by playing the game. It’s one of the easiest methods because you already play the game anyway, right?
The only downside to this method, compared with option two, is that it takes a while to build up V-Bucks this way. The game doesn’t tend to offer large numbers of V-Bucks at once, meaning you have to play for quite a while before you actually get enough of them to purchase stuff in-game.
That being said, it is an easy method, and definitely worth doing.
Here are three ways you can earn free V-Bucks by playing Fortnite…
1. Earn V-Bucks in Battle Royale through the Free Pass and Battle Pass
Want free v-bucks for Battle Royale? You can earn V-Bucks through the Free Pass and Battle Pass.
Players are provided with access to the Free Pass each season and the option to purchase the Battle Pass. With both passes, you are able to earn V-Bucks as you progress through levels of the Battle Pass.
Battle Pass, if you don’t already know, is a featured item in Fortnite Battle Royale. It offers you the chance to unlock not only V-Bucks but also things like in-game cosmetics.
2. Simply login to earn V-Bucks in Save the World
Save the World offers a couple of different ways to earn v-bucks just for playing. One way to earn V-Bucks is to simply login. Each day that you log in, you’ll receive rewards, and sometimes, you’ll get a small number of V-Bucks, which can add up over time. It’s not the fastest way to earn them, but it’s still worth doing.
3. Complete quests and challenges in Save the World
Okay, another option for getting cash to spend on Fortnite in the Save the World Version is to simply play the game. You can earn V-Bucks by completing quests, such as some daily quests, and Storm Shield Defense Missions. Also, some challenges may reward you with V-Bucks when you complete them.
Handily enough, these quests and challenges will display their rewards. So you can simply check which rewards are on offer by going to the “QUESTS” tab in the game.
Other Ways to Get Free V-Bucks
Okay, so as you can see above, there are a few ways to earn V-Bucks from just playing Fortnite. But, there aren’t that many options and it takes a while for points to build up. I think that method one is more supplementary and that a better way to get cash to spend in-game is to use websites and apps that give you rewards for doing tasks.
Now, don’t worry, this is so, so easy.
I’ve used many of these sites myself, and I have gotten free cash to spend in-game.
Now, basically, these sites will reward you for doing easy tasks on your computer or phone. This includes stuff like playing games, watching videos, and surfing the internet. So, it’s pretty easy, right?
In return for doing these tasks, these websites or apps will give you rewards including:
- Free V-Bucks: Simple, right?
- Gift cards: So they offer gift cards for places like the Xbox store/Microsoft store and the PlayStation store. You can then use these gift cards to purchase V-Bucks for free.
- PayPal cash: You can then trade this PayPal cash for free V-Bucks.
4. Idle Empire
Idle Empire is an awesome site for gamers. It’s a rewards site for gamers – so it’s sort of like Swagbucks except that it’s focused on games.
You can do tasks on there to earn free skins, games, cryptocurrencies, and, as you can probably guess, free V-Bucks!
You can earn for lots of tasks including:

One of the main ways that I’ve gotten free cash to spend in-game is by joining Microsoft Rewards. It’s a rewards program from Microsoft, as you may have guessed from the name, that gives you points for doing easy tasks.
This includes:
- Using Bing or Microsoft Edge to browse the internet (there is a limit on the number of searches you can do in a day though).
- Taking quizzes
- Learning about things online like events, national parks, and history.
Once you have enough points, you can redeem them for lots of different rewards, including Microsoft and Xbox gift cards.
It doesn’t take that long to accumulate points either.
I’ve also seen other great rewards available for gamers too, like:
- Xbox GamePass gift card
- Sweepstake entries for things like a free console or a lifetime GamePass membership.

Free V Bucks Generator No Verification!
Do NOT waste time on those so-called free V-Bucks Code Generators or hacks!
Okay, so above, you have 15 options for getting free V-Bucks. They do require some effort, of course. You might be wondering about these so-called free V-Buck generators that you see online. They seem pretty easy, right?
Sadly, these generator sites are scams.
Usually, they are just trying to steal information from you, like your credit card information and login details. So, do not use them. You don’t want to have your account hacked or your sensitive information stolen.
You really should not use these sites. Even if one of these generator sites claims to be from Epic Games, it is, most likely, not. There’s no way to just generate free V-Bucks.
The only legit ways to get free V-Bucks is either by:
- Playing Fortnite
- Completing tasks on websites and apps
So, the two options that I mentioned above!
