Chrome Extensions to Earn Free Gift Cards
So, based on my personal experience, here are the best Chrome extensions for free gift cards.
1. Blockreward
Let me start with Blockreward, a free to use Chrome browser add-on that you can use to earn points (called Zest Points or ZP, for short) by doing little tasks online like surveys, watching videos, or testing apps.
You can trade those points for gift cards or even cryptocurrency.
It runs quietly in the background, stacking rewards while you browse the internet.
By the way, Blockreward is now rebranded as Zest, but the Chrome extension still uses the Blockreward name. So when you see Blockreward, it’s the same platform as Zest.
- Minimum to cash out: $1.00 (1,000 Z Points)
- Payout options: Crypto currencies and gift cards to Amazon, Walmart, and more
- Install: Get Blockreward here
2. Microsoft Rewards Browser Extension
I love Microsoft Rewards. I actually have a full review of the Microsoft Rewards.

The same program has a browser add on for Chrome users that you can use to earn points doing the exact same thing you’d do if you were using Microsoft Rewards’ own website/program.
All you do is install the add-on, then you start earning points by searching with Bing and doing simple daily tasks.
It reminds you when you can earn and tracks your points.
- Minimum to cash out: About 500 points (varies by gift card)
- Payout options: Gift cards to Xbox, Amazon, Starbucks, and more
- Install: Get Microsoft Rewards here
3. Navigate Rewards
Navigate Rewards is a data-sharing Chrome extension that works quietly in the background while you browse the web. It earns you points just for normal internet use, so you don’t have to take surveys or do anything else.
You get points based on your browsing data, but don’t worry, it’s all non-identifiable. For example, the data may say what kind of device was used to access a certain site. It won’t say or show your name, address, etc., it’s all just general data without any identifiable info attached to it.
You can redeem those points for gift cards at dozens of retailers.
- Minimum to cash out: $5.00
- Payout options: Gift cards at dozens of retailers
- Install: Get Navigate Rewards here
4. Search Rewards
Search Rewards pays you to search the web, take quick surveys, and enter sweepstakes.
I was surprised by how user-friendly this add-on was. Sometimes similar add-ons and apps make it hard to use the actual tool with confusing menus and language. But Search Rewards really makes things easy. So even if you’re not tech-savvy, this is easy to use.
Obviously, as the name suggests, you earn points for, yes, just searching online. But you also get to earn points by doing other simple tasks like referring friends nd taking surveys.
They also run monthly sweepstakes for a shot at bigger prizes.
Here’s the best part…
You know how we talked about the Microsoft Rewards program that rewards you for using Bing search instead of Google? With Search rewards, you get to actually earn points for the same searches from both Microsoft and Search rewards simultaneously.
- Minimum to cash out: $10.00
- Payout options: Gift cards from popular stores
- Install: Try Search Rewards here
FAQs
Still have a few questions? I figured you might.
It’s smart to be skeptical when someone says “free stuff.”
Here are some quick answers to what’s probably on your mind.
Are these extensions safe to use?
Yes, the ones listed in this post are 100% legit and safe to use. I focused only on the legit ones with good track records.
Remember how I mentioned Navigate Rewards uses “non-identifiable” data? That’s the kind of thing I looked for. These extensions are safe, but as a general rule, you should always be mindful of what you install.
And if you noticed, I linked to Google’s Chrome web store instead of linking directly to the extension’s own website. That’s because Chrome has certain best practices and rules (for the safety of users) that you have to follow.
In fact, when I was testing them, there were a few that I liked but they had a warning on their Chrome web store page from Google saying that the extension wasn’t available anymore because they weren’t following the best practices anymore.
Can I use more than one of these at the same time?
Yes, you can and you should! It’s an easy way to double what you earn for the same thing.
Like I mentioned in the post, you can get points from Microsoft Rewards and Search Rewards for the exact same Bing search. You’re not breaking any rules.
How long does it take to earn enough for a gift card?
It depends. Let’s be real. You’re not going to get a $50 Amazon gift card by tomorrow. It depends on which extension you use and how active you are online.
Some, like Blockreward, let you cash out with as little as $1 worth of points, while others (like Search Rewards) have higher minimums, around $10
Think of it less like a job and more like finding loose change in your couch cushions. You weren’t looking for it, but it’s awesome when you find it!
Do I need to use Chrome or will these work on other browsers?
Most of these extensions are built for Chrome, but some also work on other Chromium-based browsers like Brave, Opera, or Microsoft Edge. Just check the extension’s page to be sure.
Also, usually most of the developers create the same extension for all the major browsers like Firefox, Safari, etc. So if you like these but you use another browser, just do a quick Google search, like so: “Microsoft Rewards browser extension for Firefox“.
Final Thoughts on Chrome Extensions to Earn Free Gift Cards
If you’re tired of grinding through boring surveys or completing offer after offer to earn a $5 gift card, these Chrome extensions are a much easier way to go.
They reward you for things you’re already doing (browsing, searching, watching videos or shopping online). The best part is that once you install them, they work in the background and become part of your normal daily routine.
This is exactly what happened with me. After installing them, I sometimes forget about them. That’s especially true with extensions like Navigate Rewards, where you don’t even have to do anything to earn. I would legit forget that I had the add-on installed, lol.
Now, if you want to double or even triple your earnings, consider pairing these with apps that pay you in gift cards, or mix in a few legit survey sites that don’t waste your time.
And if you don’t have the time or patience for surveys, no worries, there are plenty of ways to get free gift cards without surveys too, like these for getting free Target gift cards!
