YouTube TV costs $72.99 per month. That works out to $875.88 per year. That’s quite a lot of cash and if you’re on a budget, it’s not ideal.

How to Get Free YouTube TV
Just like there are ways to get Netflix for free and get Hulu for free, you do have some options for watching YouTube TV for free.
These are pretty simple tips, and no hack is required! That’s always good, right?
These tips will help you to watch all your favorite shows and movies without having to pay the $72.99 per month for a YouTube TV subscription.
1. Watch for free for 20 minutes when you first sign in
When you first sign up, YouTube actually allows you to try a free preview first. It’s really that easy. The downside is that you only get a short time to watch. When I signed up, I was able to watch for 20 minutes for free.
If you want to give YouTube TV a quick whirl, then definitely take advantage of this free preview offer.
- You can sign up for YouTube TV and get this free preview here.
2. YouTube TV Free Trial
Okay, so once you have tried out YouTube TV for 20 minutes, then I would recommend that you next sign up for the company’s free trial.
Just like Netflix and Apple TV+, YouTube TV provides a free trial offer to new users.
This free trial period enables you to try out all of the features of the platform and see what content it has to offer before you part with any cash.
Unlike other streaming platforms like Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV+, YouTube TV doesn’t have one set trial period. So, basically, free trial lengths vary.
I’ve seen reports online of trials being anywhere from 5 to 14 days.
When I signed up, I was offered a free 5-day trial.
The trial offer is only available to customers who are not current YouTube TV Base Plan subscribers, have not been YouTube TV Base Plan subscribers nor participated in a YouTube TV Base Plan trial previously.
Basically, you’ll need to be a new subscriber. This is the case for most free trials for streaming services.
It’s important to note that a valid form of payment is required at signup, but you won’t be charged until the trial period ends. At the end of the trial period, you will be automatically charged the standard subscription price.
So, you’ll need to make sure that you cancel your subscription before the trial period ends. You can cancel your trial at no charge at any time before the trial is over. Also, the offer requires a Google account.
3. Look out for sign up deals from YouTube
One of the best ways to save money on YouTube TV is to simply look out for deals. When I signed up, I was offered the first 3 months for just $64.99 per month rather than the standard $72.99 per month subscription fee.
This meant that I could save $24 on my plan for the first 3 months. This is a great deal.
If you are considering signing up for YouTube TV, then I would highly recommend that you see if there’s a deal offered on sign up. If there’s not, it may be worth waiting a month or so to see if any deals become available.
If there is an offer available, be sure to take advantage of it to save some cash!
4. Complete surveys
Another option that you have is to complete surveys. Surveys are great because anyone can do them and earn money from their phone or computer. You’ll earn free cash that you can put towards a YouTube TV subscription.
Here are some good survey sites to try:
Survey sites offer many convenient payment options, such as PayPal, bank transfer, or gift cards. You can use the extra cash to get a discount on your YouTube TV subscription.
5. Complete tasks on reward sites
Reward websites, or get paid to (GPT) sites, will pay you just for doing really easy tasks. This could be something as simple as watching a short video on your phone. I mean, it’s that easy!
Reward websites do require a little time and effort, but they’re so simple for earning some extra money.
With reward websites, you can get paid for a variety of tasks, such as:
- Playing games
- Browsing the internet
- Taking surveys
- Watching videos
- Trying new apps
- Shopping online
- Completing offers
- Reading emails
For doing these tasks, reward sites, also known as get paid to (GPT) sites, will give you points that you can redeem for money or gift cards, and others give you money or gift cards from the outset.
Many reward websites will pay you right to your PayPal account.

Bonus Tip: Check with Your Cell Phone Provider
Some mobile carriers, such as Verizon and T-Mobile offer extra benefits to customers, like free access to music and TV streaming services.
Check with your mobile phone provider to see if it is currently offering any promotions for YouTube TV.

As you can see, there are quite a few legit ways to get free YouTube TV. So, you can enjoy your favorite movies and shows without putting a strain on your budget!
