8. Contact brands directly
If you have a wallpaper brand you really like, consider getting in touch with the company and requesting free samples.
Doing so can get you a selection of swatches. Just because a brand doesn’t specifically have a page for samples on its site, it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t offer them to customers who get in touch.
Most stores have a contact page where you can find an email address, contact form, or phone number that you can use to get in touch.
9. Use these tips for getting outdated wallpaper samples
If you’re looking for wallpaper samples for craft projects, then a good option is to get your hands on some outdated wallpaper samples.
Companies use books to show different wallpapers to their clients. When these samples are discontinued, these companies get replacement books that are filled with new designs. Their old books with the outdated samples are of no use to them, so you can get these out-of-date wallpaper sample books in a couple of ways for little to no cost.
Here’s how:
Contact local interior designers
Interior designers and decorators often have books of samples to show to their clients. When these books become outdated, these designers and decorators have no further use for them.
So, research some interior design and decorating companies near you, and ask them if they have any outdated wallpaper samples or sample books that they would be willing to give to you.
Contact local home stores
Visit your local home décor and furniture stores, as they may have some outdated wallpaper samples that they would be willing to give to you.
Even if these stores don’t currently have any wallpaper samples available, you could always ask them to let you know when they do have any old wallpaper sample books available.
What Size is a Wallpaper Sample?
The exact size varies from vendor to vendor.
Usually though each swatch set includes 5-10 scraps and measure about 4″ x 8″.
Also, keep in mind that commercial and residential sample sizes are usually different. For example, Walls Republic says their residential samples range in size from 8 1/4″ x 11 1/2″ to 15 1/2″ x 21″, while their commercial sample sizes are 9 3/4″ x 7 1/2″.
Happy Wallpapering!
If you decide to wallpaper your room(s) instead of painting, it’s always a good idea to get a wallpaper sample book so you can see how certain wallpaper design and colors look ion your wall next to your furniture, wall art and other objects in your house, before committing to any certain design and color.
And if you are looking for wallpaper for craft projects, having a few free scraps will help you decide which option to go with before you waste money on full-size wallpapers that may end up going unused.
Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to get free wallpaper samples.

There is a “Request a Free Sample” tab on Laura Ashley when you select the specific wallpaper you would like. It then will open your email and you must message them directly. So although I am unsure how many samples you can request exactly, I am sure if you had the wallpapers chosen then they would likely send you more than one since most people decide between a few when decorating a home or even a room.
