Gift cards are an easy way to make sure the recipient gets what they want, whether it be for Christmas, their birthday, or any other occasion. Just pick a store you know they like to shop at, and you’re set, right?
GiftCards.com offers to take the giving of gift cards even further by allowing you to customize those cards with a photo or logo, making it feel even more personal.
In this GiftCards.com review, we’ll be taking a look at what exactly the site has to offer and whether or not it’s a legit service.

What is GiftCards.com?
Started as a site to buy personalized gift cards, GiftCards.com has expanded to also offer bulk purchases for companies wanting to give out rewards.
They also have an app, available on the App Store and Google Play, which allows you to send gift cards over the phone or through email. A big bonus, for me at least, is that you can also schedule when your gift will be sent.

Where do I sign up?
To buy from GiftCards.com, you have to set up your account. They’ll need your name, zip code, and email address. Alternatively, you can sign up with your Facebook or Google account with one click, if that tickles your fancy.
Once you’re signed up, you can start filling your cart!

How Does it Work?
GiftCards.com is an online retailer focused on selling gift cards, so using the site is pretty straightforward. Just pick out the card you want, pick a design, and choose the amount you want on the card.
They also have a discount section, where you can buy gift cards for less than their value. I’ve seen gift cards on offer from the site for 25% off their face value!
The site also has a rewards program for people who make a habit of buying gift cards from them. Usually, they offer 1% cashback on non-discounted gift cards, but there are a few cards that you can’t earn rewards on.
Some of the discounted deals you can get are:
- 18% off AMC Theater cards
- 12% off Bath And Body Works cards
- 15% off Banana Republic cards
- 14.5% off Red Lobster cards
Is GiftCards.com Legit?
Now, offers of gift cards with pictures printed on them are all well and good, but if you’ve looked up the site you’ve probably seen that there are a number of negative reviews out there. That automatically raises the question of whether GiftCards.com is legit or a scam.
The short answer is yes, it is a reputable company, but with a major caveat: their customer service is terrible!

With any online service, lots of things can go wrong, whether it’s a result of network interruptions, processing errors, or a mistyped digit on an order.
And when things go wrong, you want to be sure that there is someone or something in place to fix your problem! After all, that’s your money on the line, potentially sitting in limbo or going to the wrong place, and a quick response can often make a world of difference.
Final Review of GiftCards.com
At this point, I wouldn’t recommend using GiftCards.com regularly. Their offer to schedule gifts for the future is an alluring one, and buying gift cards for a discount sounds like basically free money, but unless there’s a major change of direction from the site, there’s a chance you could just be throwing money into the garbage.

Disgruntled
Someone sent me a gift card from gift cards.com, but I when I click “Redeem”, nothing happens– it just wants me to buy more cards! I contacted them, but so far, they’ve not replied. If it’s a legit site, it ought to redesign its website!
Saeed
Do you know how that “someone” is? Is the email from the official email address of GiftCard.com? There are a lot of scams out there so you have to be really careful on what links you click on. They could install malware on your device. I’d contact the website and ask them directly.
